Like Tyrant said, show up to games. Talk to people. You'll find that it's better to commit to a team once you've already gotten to know who you're compatible with :)

If you're interested, August 14-15 PLA is hosting a Training session. It's open to anybody who'd like to come. We'll have a steak BBQ (for about $6) Saturday night. A night game, a pistol course, and free breakfast courtesy of the courteous DJ!

But in all seriousness, come out and play, get to know people, let them get to know you. You will find it easier to click with a team if you know the players. And honestly you can do fine all by yourself; you'll always find someone to be your battle buddy.
