Calling All TT MAV 2-Piece users

So, I might be picking up a TT 2-piece MAV pretty soon, but I'm wondering, when you wear them, about how far around you do they wrap?

So, here's what I'm wondering. If anyone would be willing to tell me:

Their build.
Their height & weight.
And how far around it wraps.

I'd love to know. Specificially what I'm wondering is, if, say, you had a couple of canteen pouches as far back as possible on the rig, are you able to, reasonably, sit in a chair or an automotive seat? Photos would be awesome, but if you can just tell me, that'll work.

EDIT: And before anyone says it, I'm googling the shit out of this. But since everybody tends to wear theirs different, and since a guy in a picture isn't going to tell me what his build is, its not as useful as I'd like.

I used to have one.
They are build awesomely durable. I beat the crap out of mine at Variable's 24 hour Sniper/Recon game and it looked like I had just bought it.
They aren't too big, and they pretty much weight as much as the pouches and whatever is in them.
How far they wrap depends how big your chest is. I'm fairly stocky (5'10", 180 lbs, and only a bit fat) and it went almost all the way around my back. Probably like 4 inches apart in the back?

I figure with canteens all the way on the back you could sit in a chair, but not particularly comfortably. also, if you put the rig high up on your chest, it would be impossible to reach the canteens without help.

I'm a fan of lower profile hydro packs. If you are in a vehicle it might even make a comfy cushion. I've also heard of side hydro packs that fit in a canteen pouch sized area, that might work.

Is it possible to make it ride low enough, like just above the belt line? Because I really dislike hydro packs (for actually drinking from them, atleast) and prefer my old USGI canteens.

I never wore it that way, but I'm pretty sure you could if you wanted to. It would be more like a belt setup I think.

I'm thin-ish, so it wraps almost all the way around (maybe a 4" gap in the back). Excellent build, comfort, etc.

Tactical tailor 2 peica mav's:
The 2-Peice Modular Assult vest consists of two front map pockets, each with 3 rows modular webbing across the entire length of the vest. Opens in the front with 3/4" fastex buckels.
After a quick search on google I found this image...

I count 9 rows of Molle on each pouch... 1 webbing loop is aprox 1.25 inches... Lets do the math...
9 X 1.25"= 11.25" of space per pouch...
11.25 X 2 = 22.5" of space for both pouches... then we add the aproximate 2" for the Buckles up front for a grand total of 24.5 inches.
Now check your pant size do the subtraction and you can see how much extra you'll need to cover. That's just simple math.
As for fit over the shoulders, the pre-made straps are quite long, It will fit around MOST peoples waist like a very.
I wear my 1-peice with the X harness and it is comfy! I don't mind the inch and a half straps on the two-peice I have, but I can see how the X harnes would make it more comfortable, However you would need the clearance in the back to pull off said X Harnes. And I don't believe I have the room to do so. I am 6' even, 180 lbs. with a waist size of 33.
This is my two peice MAV in use by a person of the same build as me, (in the DMarpat) he is wearing it with the bottom just above his waist, his OD belt is around his waist The back two pouches (Dump pouch on the left and a TT untlity pouch on the right, are on the lowest line of the TT MAV webbing so he can access them more easily. (In my oppinion they are still a bit high)

Rememebr the when you start putting pouches on that it hangs down another 3-8 inches.

I bought the wholw kit with the large storage pockets. Thing rocks!

Realize that the Y-shaped harness/suspender-like things is an extra and not standard with the MAV.

It would solve carrying a standard camelback, though--it's what I intend to do. I, by the way, just bought a TT 1 piece MAV--I wanted the extra space.

I'm 6'2" and 200lbs. I love where everything sits on my MAV and you can adjust it all the way down to the belt line and all the way up to a high rise chest rig. I like mine kind of in the middle. That puts the mags exactly where I want them.

Er, what extra space? There are 18 rows of MOLLE on the 2 piece MAV: 9 on each side. There are 18 rows of MOLLE on the 1 piece as well; they're just all connected.

The TT MAV is one of the few designs which is 10+ years old and still remains relevant today. There are better rigs out there now IMO, but the MAV is hard to beat for the price.

IMO, a more modern and updated version of the MAV is the Eagle all modular MPCH (or something like that):


The big improvements IMO are actual shoulder straps, and a zipper front (the buckles are better than the one piece MAV, but zippers would be even better).
The irony on that is the MPCH is essentially an LBT 1961 that is just MOLLE...which is another 10+ year old design that still rocks.
The MAV is a lot more lightweight as well..which is great. There is nothing superfluous on it.

I have gone through 3+ MAVs in various configurations...it was the first MOLLE rig I ever owned and holds a special place in my heart <3
