An actual photo of the new NWU Woodland Uniform.

Looks to me like they took two uniforms of MARPAT, stole the brown from the temperate MARPAT, and put it on the desert MARPAT, and viola! NWU's 2 and 3.

CADPAT+MARPAT, I'm actually disappointed, I wanted to see something new and exciting.

I do plan on getting a set when it becomes available. I hope someone makes it in the ACU cut.

Looks like a big waste of funds. Exactly like other digital patterns already in existence.

While we're at it, why don't we pay even more taxes so every branch of the military can invent their own "wheel."

Concur, I grow tired of my tax dollars being spent by the different branches to do the same thing over and over.

Apparently whoever is designing the camo really likes Avatar. Anyone else see the similarity?

You do know digital camouflage was in use before that movie came out?

Yeah, but was that woodland digital out before it came out?

Exactly. The Air Force wanted to copy the Army. So they put in there own little changes and called it the ABU. Looks like the Navy has the same idea but copying the Marines instead.

One team, one camo. Separate branches, separate dress uniforms...

*EDIT* Oh, and the camo looks like dump, just sayin'...

The M81 is just an improved RDF pattern , which was itself an improved ERDL pattern.

Digital camo has been around for years ( since the '60s ), it's just that since the '90s a lot more countries have started developing new patterns.
