So, for years now, there's been talk of a dedicated Navy Working Uniform in a woodland pattern. Apparently, its here now. Its referred to as NWU Type III. The blue is NWU Type I, and there's a desert variant called NWU Type II.

After some backlash from the Marines, there are some restrictions on its wear. Type II can only be worn by NSW units, Type III only by Navy ground units. So SeaBees and SEALs get them. Which is about what it should be.

I hope the MCPON would forgive me for saying this, but while the pattern may work, the cut looks like shit. And those flat pockets, I can't figure out why they keep them.

I'd consider wearing that. *shrugs*

I like CADPAT better, but I keep looking at getting a set of ACU (just because), if it becomes commercially available for a reasonable price, I'd certainly look at it.

I like it. I'd see wearing that more than most any other cut (Short of Russian Flora. I love that shit) but I agree on the pockets.

I wonder if Navy Corpsman working green side (with Marines) will wear that or if they will continue to wear MARPAT.

Without the brown...

I still don't understand why we can't have one pattern for all the services (with varying color schemes based on region of operation). Like the JSF but in a uniform...

They'll continue to wear MARPAT.

The difference between this and MARPAT is that, on Type III, they removed a lot of the brown, and added more green. Amusingly enough, Type II has more brown than MARPAT Desert. This is, in the end, what caused the Corps to be pretty miffed about the whole thing.

And it does look a bit like CADPAT, but in this case, if you used more green and less black. Its look like lighter shades of green, too.
