Flight Suits and Airsoft

Hello. I have had acu for a while and they stand out really badly. So i looked around for better solutions. Multicam is perfect, but it is too expensive. So i saw flight suits and immediately though Wow. They are only 30ish bucks and they work well in my local so cal fields. Do you guys think flight suits are good for airsofting? Should they hold up? How does this tru spec flight suit look?

low quality, possibly bad customerservice on the sight, it's much cheaper but the shipping is huge. it'll come out cheaper than any other set though.

They have one major Pro, and major Con.
Now, the major Con;
They can get very hot. So, if you're running around SoCal in one with gear and stuff, make sure you hydrate. t.

This makes me want to cry, as I live in Socal and want to wear a flightsuit BAD! found one for $20, just need to get the right size, but I have no idea.

Also, the worst thing in the world is having to take a shit while wearing a flightsuit with all your gear on. No matter how fast you strip your gear off, its never fast enough.

Thanks Guys! Is the flight suit i linked durable though? I really don't need my flight suit tearing cause i walked through an area with pointy dried dead branches.

THe TrueSpec flight suits are made out of Nomex, and are durable, and comfortable. I have worn either parts of flight suits, or the full flight suits to most of the games i have been to. This also includes the flight suits that the Army has issued me. They have not torn, or shown any sign of wear. So to answer the question, even in ACU(ISEEYOU), they are very durable, and suitable for airsoft.

Another option is finding a local army surplus store for sizing. Some of the local ones I've found have "used" bins where you can find some overalls that are already broken in. They probably have patches or minor tears and stuff but they are reduced in price. Minor tears are an easy fix. Just a suggestion.

Carbon, let me tell you from personal experience with the flight suits. Even in extreme heat, I'm talking like 120+, they still seemed to keep me rather cool. Now don't get me wrong, they are still hot in that kind of heat, but not so hot that I was trying to get out of them. The Nomex material in itself is lightweight, but very durable. In MY opinion, you would be O.K. with the flight suit even in SoCal. I wore them everyday for 15 months in iraq.

I wore a flight suit for the first year I played airsoft. Much thinner material than BDUs, and cooler. Not sure what Nasty's smoking.

I've used them before at games and enjoyed it.

Few problems I had was since they are thinner than BDUs blackberry thorns and such would get through and stab me. Haven't had any tearing issues with my 2 flight suits. Another issue is when I'd reach up the seat of the flightsuit would grab me in the wedding tackle which is kind of annoying.

Other than that, I've had no issues using them in the heat with PCs on.


If you can find one at a surplus store, I'd go that route since it'll be much cheaper.

I own 6 flight suits and find them comfortable , i also have worn flight suits during combat operations in the jungle and during hostage rescue training in the heat of the summer with full gear on and gas mask plus helmet and had no problems at all .

Um...well I don't know if you have some freakish anatomy or not, but I wore flightsuits during both my deployments to the sandbox and it was hot as shazaam, especially under full gear.

Nah , not freakish at all , i was born and lived for a long time in South America , so i am used to the heat , what was f***ing hot was getting used to doing stuff while on MOPP IV during Desert Shield / Storm.
