What to do when you run out of ammo (if you do)

Discuss anything and everything here that's Airsoft related.

I carry about twice as many mags as I usually use, so I've never run out of ammo with my current load. If I were to run out, I'd whip out my speedloader and load two of them back up. Once those were dry, I'd switch to my sidearm and go through its two mags. After that, I'd still have my 3 40mm shells. After that, I'd still have 2 tennis balls.

If I really wanted to turn myself into a walking supply depot, I'd pilfer the mags and pouches from my "guest" loadout and stick those on my back in case some prick on my team runs out of ammo. I've half a mind to do it too, because it would look hilarious and make me weigh twice what I do without any gear.

It's bad enough I still own a hicap; I would never carry a bag of BBs with me on the field.
I'm a "fair weather" airsofter. I only play in the pouring rain, freezing cold, or broiling heat.

what happens if you dont get shot. id rather not run out and just stand up waiting for somebody to hit me. if im out id pull out the wimpy 20 spare non blowback pistol i have, do a few action rolls then empty the 10 round magazine at a window with nobody in it. usually get a lot of attention by then and ul be hit lol. (just carry more mags)

Me too I run with 10 C-mags for my MP5K so I never really have to worry about running out of ammo and hulking out.

If its not a serious game, I usually go apesh!t when down to my last half mag to either go out in a blaze of glory or ... well, just get hit unceremoniously and go out.

I've only run out in a serious game once, so I hung back and worked as a spotter, calling out opposing positions and running messages. Sometimes an extra set of eyes not focused on shooting are as good as an extra weapon on the firing line in 15 minutes.

It's hard to run out of ammo when you're too busy drinking and bleeding to play. ;)

Well since I switched over to 10 real caps, I conserve my ammo a lot more than I even did with mid caps. Out of loading all 10 of my mags, I only use about 2-3 1/2 mags in a game. So only about 90 rounds, give or take.

What do I do when I run out of ammo?
I don't. I carry 500 rounds on me, with a 3k bag and speed loader in a pack I drop on the field. Incidentally, the pack also has food and an extra camelback in case I need more water.
500 rounds is usually enough to last me five or six hours, and the sustainment load gives me another five or six more. My battery's only good for 1k shots, but if I need more than a thousand rounds in a game I'm doing it wrong.

What do I do when my battery dies?
Well, it doesn't because I charge it before playing, but were the wires to rip out again, I'd switch to my pistol and scout for my team. Again.

My first game at Solomon's Pass I had my teammate post up while I reloaded 2000 rounds worth of magazines literally in the middle of the main village area in the first assault. When I had run out of ammo I held my gun in the air and waved it like a Sand Person.

When I sniped I never ran out. Then again, I never really shot that much; maybe 100 rounds in an entire day tops.

Now when I run out I pull out a realistic looking fake sword I bought when I was a spartan for a halloween once that I strap to the back of my plate carrier, and I charge headlong. I am 1:1 on this strategy so far lol.

+1 for "when i run out i reload".
i didn't think of that on my own...saw someone else reload, so i just figured that was the thing to do and copied them...

At a not-serious event? I swap drums. And carry like 7 hi-caps as backups.

At a serious event? When I get through the first six hicaps, I start considering retreating to reload. Wost case, I'll borrow mags from a friend. Absolute worst case? Sidearm.

I'm trying to decide whether to invest in a bunch of M-16VN hicaps (because theyare around 200 rounds) or to pick up a couple more 2500 round box mags.
