"The ACU Argument"

Discussion of load-bearing equipment, tactical gear, holsters, BDUs, and other gear related to Airsoft.

Postby Sodak » Sun Jun 20, 2010 9:49 pm

If we're talking about height to maturity...im 6'4 so that must mean im more mature than 96% of everyone on AP. Wrong! Maturity is based on your actions and behavior NOT your size. And if you would like to believe this go ahead but i, on the other hand, will pay attention to how i am acting to others and around others so as to present my self in a MATURE manner. And in addition to this the fact that you LIED about your age shows that your scared people will look down to you because your younger but if you try and act your age or preferably OLDER then you will be respected...like Juicemachine.

But on topic: ACU looks good on rocks and gravel roads. CAMO is made for different scenarios. And to those who get all bent out of shape because ACU doesnt blend, who cares? Just dont stand near them and if they are on the other team it's an easier target to see. We are just trying to have fun.

EDIT: I know you think Im probably a little fag kid but im just yet 15... So my parents have to drive me to the events. :? Also, im 6'2" and mature, and experienced with airsoft. So you dont have to worry about a little munchkin sized nooblet running around

What the hell does height have to do with anything, maybe I missed somthing that involves height?

Im 16, 6,3, fat and mature ;)

ACU works great in the California, Nevada desert. It's pretty good in the snow and at night too. In the forest though, woodland or MARPAT woodland works the best.

I'm 5'2" and immature. You got a problem with my small stature?

Anyway, get whatever camo you want.

Snake Eyes has managed to sneak up on a group of people in a grass field in the middle of summer while wearing all black.

ACU doesn't blend well, but it's better than black. So as long as you can be sneaky, you'll do fine in ACU. If you prance around like an idiot making a ton of noise, then no camo will be of much benefit.

Wear what you want, you'll just catch some flak every once and a while because someone else is in the oppinion that their gear is better than yours.

In my opinion ACUs are a costly mistake for the woodland game here in the Pacific Northwest. Most of our missions are played in broad daylight in green forests. People who would say that the camo patterns don't matter because of the engagement distances have probably never been part of a successful ambush or ran with a squad or a team with enough discipline to pull one off.

If you cannot conceal yourself, your only tactic is to charge. People recognize shapes, the profile of an ACU wearer is very obvious in an Oregon Forest.

But I don't want you to wear MARPAT because then you'll probably end up playing on my side at an OP. Stick to ACUs. Have fun with that. I hear that pink camo they sell at Andy & Bax works well too.

I forgot to mention German Flecktarn works well in the forest too. Lay down at the base of a pine tree and you'll disappear. And it's cheap too.

I'd chose 9 if i were you, then i'd look like a 6"2 banana.

Just when I was thinking AP can't get any more retarded, I see this thread. Funky fix your age and try to post less.

Also the only post worth reading was Matts.

Pretty much. hehe

Edit/Addon: Also, I'll only attend a years worth of games with my acu. Because when I start working in a year (I'll be 16) I can actually buy some good gear that I personally like, and not budget stuff I kinda like. @Matt: A little harsh but true, I have only snuck up on people in cqb and safety killed em
