I was told people don't like them on the field during game I don't know because I have not been to any real games yet just a few skirmishes (due to money issues) I see no problem and read the rules as long as it's a rubber or plastic replica its fine

nobody really cares. if you think you can get close enough to touch someone with one, then go nuts. id rather someone tapped me out with a rubber knife than shot me at point blank range with an AEG. just don't start throwing them like some people and you should be fine. also, don't expect everyone to honor a knife kill unless its clearly defined in the game rules beforehand. they don't have to call it unless its in the rules, its pretty much up to the player.

In my experience, i've seen people shit a bleeding brick when you tap them out. Something about "This is milsim, please light me up from 5 feet away instead of tap me out." I say go for it anyway, a fair amount of people use the knife replicas (and nerf swords)

What is that replica made of? If someone comes at me with a wooden knife I'd become rather irate.

Some places say plastic is no-go. They only want rubber, and no stabbing motions.
I'm a "fair weather" airsofter. I only play in the pouring rain, freezing cold, or broiling heat.

if the knife blade can bend in on itself 180 degrees then hey fine. if its hard plastic. then its a no-go.

back to the drawing board for you kiddo.
I am not half as good as I want to be, but I am twice as good as you think I am.

I have a rubber knife that I have messed with and bent so much its really soft and doesn't hurt.

But then again if I were to knife tap someone I wouldn't make a jabbing motion I would just tap them on the shoulder or something.

The Safety Rules wrote:All "real" weapons including but not limited to firearms and fixed-blade knives are NOT allowed at games. Folding utility knives and pocket knives are allowed as an essential part of survival kit, but they may not be used in game-play.

RUBBER KNIFE KILLS
Players are allowed to "tap out" other players with rubber or plastic knives made for safe Airsoft use. Touch your opponent with your rubber knife and simply tell them that they're dead. Contact should be no more than a tap; there's absolutely no slashing, throwing, hitting or martial arts physical contact allowed. Contact must be made with a rubber or plastic replica of a knife, sticks and other objects do not work. DO NOT tap another player in the head, neck, face or groin. Players eliminated by this method should try and acknowledge their hit/death silently.

At any official AP game, fixed blade knives are not allowed. We don't generally ban the use of plastic knives, but we also don't allow for any type of a stabbing motion, just a shoulder tap. The point is, we don't want players to simulate hand to hand combat and then end up getting into a real fight with physical contact. Most playfields aren't insured for that.
