Will it work?

Discussion of GBB (gas blowback) replicas.

Will it work?

Postby Partiro » Mon May 24, 2010 9:58 pm

I know this is a stupid question and I might get bashed for it but I want to start a thread that will welcome anyone's stupid question.

My stupid question of will it work is...

Computer dusters, will it work?

I have a few bottles of computer dusters made by memorex with difluorethane in them on my computer desk to dust my computer. If anyone has taken chemistry anything with a composition of H-C bonds end with a "ane" and propane is the same. Other uses than dusting your computer can be getting "high" from it, as south park shows that clearly.

I want to ask if it is possible to charge your pistol mags with this stuff and fire it? Its just a question out of curiosity.

There are duster adapters on the market. A lot of plastic GBBs run off of duster gas. You can use it, though your FPS will suffer.

Yeah. It's normally used for all plastic GBB pistols from WA and TM. You may have seen it sold as HFC134A. (It's slightly different, but basically the same thing as far as airsoft usage.)

When shopping around for the duster, you need to make sure not to buy the stuff with a certain kind of additive, although I don't remember what. You can ask Kendodude, as I think he knew.

You want to find bottles with Tetraflorothane. I usually used Office Depot duster. You need a Duster adapter. If you don't want to buy one individually, you can purchase a Airsoft Innovations Propane adapter which come with a duster adapter as an extension, replacement head, and it's purpose itself.

Wow I did not know it was like that. Never really bothered going into research with the different kinds of gas you can use other than propane/green gas. Just goes to show how all great minds think alike and end up figuring out that certain things work one way or the other.
