how do i lube my gbb?

Postby CCCman » Sat May 08, 2010 1:57 pm

Hi,
i just got a we tech meu, and yes its full metal.
Is there anything from local stores such as home depot, lowes, etc that i can buy to lube my gun? And how would i lube my gun? (where, how much, etc).

I really can't keep ordering silicone oil from online, its too expensive, cause here in california, i have to pay shipping plus the 9.75% tax. I also don't order too often, so i can't just add it to my orders.

-Thanks for your help!

Pretty much any auto parts store should sell spray silicone. Our local Walmart has it for about 3 dollars a can.

For a basic cleaning, pick up a can of air and a can of silicone. Tear the slide off, blow some air around the guts of the slide and down the barrel. Spray some silicone on anything rubber, spray some down the barrel, and run a cleaning patch down the barrel (tear up some paper towels and use anything small enough and long enough to push it down the barrel). Do this before and after every game, and you *should* be okay.

Every once in a while, depending on how often you play, tear the grips off as well, spray some silicone into anything that moves, and fiddle with it so the silicone moves around and gets where it needs to go.

Also, make sure to lube the seals on your magazines as well.

For parts such as the slide and magazine seals, I would use 10 weight R/C car shock oil (the higher the weight the thicker the viscosity), its just 100% silicone fluid. You can get it at any hobby store that carries r/c car products, I would try a Hobbytown USA since there is sure to be one in your area. Usually costs no more than $4-5 or so for a bottle.

For the barrel however, I would use some spray silicone as Sleepy suggested.

Spray the mag seal. There's really no need to tear it apart unless something goes wrong. Make sure to press the release valve on the back open and shoot a little in.
