If I wasn't driving a 20 year old pos oldsmobile, and if I wasn't deathly afraid of driving through portland, I'd drive for awhile.

I would say I could take a 4hr trip for a good airsoft OP/Skrim. But I would always make a 2hr drive to play anytime.

+1
You guys up in portland got it easy, you drive about an hour round trip for most games. Us airsofters in southern Oregon get screwed on the drive to games all the time.

I'll drive Das Auto 4 hours for a good game. Depending on how gay the ruleset is.

So my equation is...
Time Traveled = T
Time Played = P
Fun Multiplier = X
Maximum Propensity To Consume = V
Actual Cost = N
(XP - T)+(V-N) = G
If G /< 0
then
Don't Go
If G > 0
GO!

You need to define units, otherwise this is meaningless.

It really depends on the event. I don't want to drive a long way for a skirm , but I might drive t CA for an epic op/game

I don't mind driving 2-3 hours for a skirm. For a 24 hour plus game? I'd drive up to N. WA, probably about six hours or more depending on if I have an alternate driver.

I too thought this was going to be about another form of time travel (not travel time). None the less I talked it out with friends and we agreed that 2-3 would be fair for a nice game like described. I would be willing to drive farther if it was for an area that was built like an army base (or had some form of such structures) as well as good camping area.

What are you talking about? Its just a plug in what you think type of program.. No point in going into too much detail..

I'd be willing to drive 5 hours each way for a good game if it was campin the night before and the night after.

Of course, these days, most of the reason that I go looking for a game is the social aspect of things. Meet people, swap stories of how life was better before the internet, and consume tasty adult beverages.

The plastic death in between is fun and all, but mostly it's the social outing that will get me to show up. If the event is milsim-oriented, it is definitely a plus, since in my mind that means a group of generally older, generally more serious types.
