Travel time discussion

How far are you willing to travel to get to a game?

Lets say there is a milsim game that is going to last 24+ hours, be very challenging, and cost less than $20.
Are you willing to travel an hour, 3 hours, 5 hours?

I know much of AP is Portland-centric, including many of the teams that would be interested in something different.

Areas for your consideration:
Josephine County
Douglas County
Central Oregon

Maybe an hour and an hour back.
Silverton is probably the farthest I'll go.

Personally, I am willing to travel 6-7 hours to a good event. However, there are often logistics that need working out that make it less likely than I would wish.

When I was in Portland I could afford and organize easily enough to go to events that were in the area, which obviously has changed since moving back down to Southern Oregon.

If it's far (3+ hours), I'll just rent a plane and go and stay a few days.

I would travel 2-3 hours to go to a good game.

the better the game and people putting it on the more likely I would be to driving farther out to BFE... (read 2-3 hours)

If you do it in CO, about an hour. Anywhere else, we're not really qualified to speak on.

Hell, I've driven 6+ hours to get to a game. Of course, I'm up in an airsoft wasteland, so that's pretty reasonable. If I can get there starting at 5 in the morning and arriving before dark, I'm good.

It comes to a point where you're spending more getting to the game then it costs to actually play the game. I draw the line a bit before that, so perhaps 2 hours.

If there's camping I don't mind traveling over 3 hours.

I admit I thought the original title read "Time Travel Discussion." I was ready to bust out my DeLorean & Tardis knowledge. :p
