General Consensus on Ballistics Shields?

Sweet job G36 FTW, looks like that thing has seen some use lol. I was planning to bolt the sheet metal a little more often around the edges, and have the seam probably go through the middle vertically instead. I'm a bit of a perfectionist at times, so I dont doubt Ill spend far more time on mine that I should.

I'm excited to have a project for airsofting though, even if I dont use it. 8)

I personally like them and just think they should have pistol restrictions and such since decent ones are heavy as shit and bulky. If there was say a minimum size and weight requirement to make to try and balance that out, I could see it easily working.

Ballistic shields 100% ruin open play. Were they made of several layers of paper that eventually degraded, there'd be less of an issue, but most people also ask that they be realistically weighted. There simply is no effective way to utilize a shield for open play, and they're sketchy in competition.
