Greetings from the UK

Postby Peaches » Tue May 04, 2010 3:38 am

While the title might be misleading, it's interesting to talk to fellow airsofters over in the UK (I am on a two week holiday over here). Most of them were hating the laws over here but they deal with it. And it's kind of interesting to hear about what the legal J limit over here, and when I told them that there was no legal limit over in the States they all just said "We have to play in the States". But the ones I met were totally cool and we got along great. In fact I am probably going to send them some stuff from the States (namely camo face paint).

Yeah, Airsoft in the UK is interesting. There seem to be more developed sites (the site nearest me in the UK was a disused industrial estate) and the hobby tends to involve older players.

In the UK they are limited to 100m (330) fps with a 0.20g BBs. I also think they have to have some sort of license or permit to buy airsoft guns.

On the other hand they can buy all kind of pyrotechnics and they really go flash, bang and BOOM! You can pepper someone with peas or paintballs or stun someone with a flashbang. I wish we could buy shit like this in California.

Nasty

I've tried to register for Arnie but with no luck. I've tried contacting them by email but haven't received a reply either. I wasn't sure if they are still up keeping the forum. Are they?

I found the web site for the UKARA wich pretty much explains everything.http://www.ukara.org.uk/

It seems that our friends in the UK have to put up with a lot of crap just to buy and play airsoft. It's kind of odd since you can own a tank and drive it down town London if you want.
