Hey guys wassup, I'm moving to Portland in a couple months and was interested in the airsoft status of Portland and where I can play around the city. I heard of the Cage but apparently it closed. can anyone confirm that?? I'm interested in meeting any players that live in Portland

The CAGE is indeed closed, which was a big loss to our community. As for events, keep your eyes on the events calendar, which is on the left side of the homepage, or along the menu bar near the top of the page. Welcome, hope you find this community not too frightening, and that you have fun. There is a wealth of information available, just remember to read the stickies before you do much else, and use the search feature. Looks like you pretty much have grammar under control, so besides that, HAVE FUN!

In general, every weekend if you want to play you can play. We have that many events happening.

A team that Runs with the Name of "Portland Liberation Army, PLA" hosts training days around Portland once a month, PSC holds a skirm by what seems every 2-3 weekends, and there are a few fields with bigger games that are hosted only minutes out of Portland (SNiperz Den, Splat action, Scappoose, and a few other fields.)

S4 Tactical is an indoor airsoft arena you can check out too. Saturdays are good days to go if you want to play with a lot of people.

S4 Tactical is nothing compared to what it used to be. How to win at S4: Shoot across the tiny arena filled with open space 2 building and tires at the worst players you could find. Then get the worst service in the world and along with all that, theres a 30min-1 hour long wait time for the admin because he is doing whatever. Soulution: Our airsoft community puts our power together to make a super indoor arena that we all have wanted. S4 USED TO BE SO FUN . I think they just need more people to work there and more work on the arena.

In case someone from S4 is reading I agree. I took a group of 12 family members to introduce them to my hobby. We were ready to go but had to wait for the admin staff to get their act together. It took so long just to get magazines for all of the weapons. The gameplay was lacking and mostly consisted of standoffs at the entrance to the large room from the spawning area. Admin would also constantly give away positions by talking to you while you're trying to flank. At one point a couple people needed a bathroom break which lead to another 45 min wait for the admin. The experience left a bad taste in the mouths of my family members who were playing for the first time. We spent a good amount of money there to boot. I want to stress that the owners and operators of S4 are nice, helpful and provide good service. My complaint is only with the arena and admin staff, both of which could be rather easily remedied.

Portland is a great area for airsoft however. More and more play areas are opening up and there have been a lot of free-$5 skirmishes in Silverton as of late.
