Precis:
It is 2008 in Georgia. Having attempted to retain the breakaway region of south Ossetia the Georgian military has failed to close the Roki tunnel is now in total retreat. Russian airborne forces have landed athwart the main road heading back to Tblisi which the Georgian military needs to use to retreat in good order. Massive Russian armoured forces are pushing through South Ossetia, have occupied Gori and are now probing deep in Georgia proper.
Refugees fleeing the fighting and expelled from their home by Ossetian separatists have set up a transit camp south of Gori. A UN resolution is expected by 4PM which will force an end to combat operations. If the Russians control this route at close of operations then they will be able to use the trapped Georgian forces as a whip hand over the Georgians in post war negotiations or, if they so decide to totally annihilate the bulk of the Georgian military, a move that would effectively spell the end of Georgian independance and might lead to a wider east/west war.
In addition large number of South Ossetian Separatist partisans are known to be in the area with the intent to cause maximum destruction of Georgian life and property in an effort to definitively secure an unassailable home for themselves.
This is a free form event. There is no winning or losing. There are only consequences. It will be up to the various factions to decide on their own course of action in accordance with their briefings. Win or lose will be a matter of hindsight.
There are two broad sides and three players groups. Each group to be briefed separately.
