Vancouver, WA/WSU Vancouver Team!

Postby Infidel » Mon Mar 22, 2010 11:27 pm

I am looking to either join a team located in or around Vancouver, WA or even better looking to start an official airsoft team at Washington State University Vancouver, with enough members we can receive funding from the school! Please email me at teamwazzu@gmail.com with either a team invite/information or if you are a student at WSUV wishing to start an airsoft team.

SOTA is based out of Vancouver, you should come out and shoot with us some time. Also I am a WSUV grad.

According to our director of student affairs, with 5 or so people you can create and official club supported by WSU, each club is allotted a certain amount of funding depending on the size/involvement of said club.

Myself and several others are attempting to get an airsoft team/club started at WSU Pullman, and I'm interested to see what you're planning to do to get one started in Vancouver.

How did you go about this? just out of curiousity

I'm trying to get a good solid team of players together, and from my understanding you don't even need to be a student of WSU to join in on the club.

There's a pretty active Veterans group going to WSUV as well. If you look them up, you can probably find a few more people that like guns and want to join. They also know the ins and outs of starting and maintaining a club at WSUV, since they've been running one for a few years.

They have a lot of girl vets. :D

Even if there is a good team looking for members in Portland or Battleground, I just want to find an active team, I don't mind driving.

What years were you there? I taught there from 2000-2004. Yeah, I've taught a lot of places--Pullman, Moscow, Vancouver, now here.

Whether you start a team or join an existing one.... Team W.H.A.T. would like to play with more vancouver teams. Its only about an hour drive there and back from where we're located and closest thing to us on AP (we're pretty much in between the locations of Tacoma Airsoft and AP, right down the middle lol.... it sucks).

As a recently graduated member of the ASWSUV student government, I can help you out with information if you need some Infidel. I also started a game design club and got funding for it, so know about that process. Although Michelle or Rachel would also be happy to help you as well(OSI Manager and OSI office coordinator). Basically you get $200 for the year as a registered club, and can request further funds if you like from the senate (but you need to show how it will benefit the student body to spend it).

This is the RSO registration form:
http://www.vancouver.wsu.edu/ss/dnloads ... onform.pdf

Sample RSO constitution (you need to change it to fit your club's rules):
http://www.vancouver.wsu.edu/ss/dnloads ... tution.pdf

You will also need a faculty or staff member to act as your club advisor. It is true that non students can be in the club, however they cannot be voting members of the club, for that you have to be registered as a student.
