dmr set up?

Postby DaNnY4886 » Sat Mar 06, 2010 2:18 pm

hello, i would like to know your opinion. i currently own a tsd sd700 and a jg hk416. i have had the 416 for going on 3 years and think its time for a new gun. i have found that the bolt action roll dosnt really fit with my local type of gameplay. i would like an aeg with good accuracy and range preferably a drm set up. i have been looking at the jg g3, and CYMA m14. i cant deside which gun to choose. if you have any other guns you think would come to my liking please tell. i dont want to spend more than 200$ on a stock gun, but will pay extrta for TBB and upgraded internals(up to around $300 with all upgrades included). any help would be greatly appreciated.

650mm is too long. An M14 is going to be a 520-510mm barrel, depending on the manufacturer.

so if i wanted a longer barrel a 550mm with a short silencer should do it? or is that little increase not going to change enough worth buying a 60$ silencer for

If you want the look of the silencer, then you can run a longer inner barrel.

If you are getting a silencer to hide a longer inner barrel then I say don't bother.

That tiny increase is not worth the price of a silencer. I would get a too long tightbore and put it all the way to the end of the outer barrel, then cut it to length and crown the inside to remove burrs and imperfections from cutting.

I would recommend you go and find a silencer that you like the look of, since "what looks good" is a subjective thing.

Once you find a silencer you like, any barrel that isn't too long will work just fine.

yeah, those are the two guns i cant decide between. i like the look of both but am not sure wich offers the better preformance. from what i have read, the m14 has better stock internals, but thats just from other forums(similar thread) and im just seeing you optinions on it

Another thing to consider:

You're 14, are you sure you can handle running around with a big heavy rifle like an M14 all day long?

Well yea, for games that short, weight is kinda a non-issue.
The big games usually last around 6 to 8 hours, and a full sized rifle + kit can get mighty heavy in that time.
Not to mention a ghillie suit turns into an oven.
