4 is the ideal number. Anywhere from 3-5 can make up a fire team. Beyond that you start getting outside of what the Army considers the abilities of a team leader to control in a battle and breaks it up into two smaller fire teams.

If you can, try to find a 4th person to come down so you can make your own fire team. If not, you can roll as 3 perfectly fine, or we can throw a person in as your 4th who shows up that day. The Training Events usually see 1-2 solid teams like DRAT and Fragistan Commando's show up, PLA shows up with a bunch, and then a large group of new players looking to meet some people in the community.
