I wonder what shop just had their shipment confiscated? Should've been shipped with orange tips.

Weren't the gbb WE m4 lower receivers capable of mating to a real steel upper and were therefore banned from import?

The comments give me a little bit of hope for humanity. If that article ran in my towns newspaper, they'd be out on a witch hunt to ban airsoft and give instructions on how you could possibly convert it to fire live ammo.

wow. Just wow. I like how in the comments section everyone is calling the, idiots and then one guy goes on a rant about how this is proof china is trying to kill more americans.

That story is so far from reality that it just has to be illegal or something.

Thank God the US hasn't reached the level of collective gun-phobia that's taken place in the rest of the 'civilized' world.

When they replaced common sense with the bureaucrat, shit went to hell.

Um, they don't like Asians. That's how they do it. Lol. But this whole thing is bull shit. If I wouldn't go to jail for it, I would find the agents who caused this whole thing, and slap them across the face.

huh... remember when I stated sometime ago their was a ATF ban on WE GBB rifles and I was told that wasn't true.

While the article does not mention a ban specifically it is noted somewhere within the ATF department about these specific replicas since there was a review done on them a few years ago and it was a no go on them then.

Odd they came without a orange plastic flashhider, mine always did.

I am sure PALCO would like their M4's back that the ATF took when they were raided.

Horizon Tactical would probally like their container back.

This is why I will no longer carry the WE M4 GBB series rifles until a revised lower receiver is made (which is supposedly under concept now)

The SCAR is not a issue but the 416 and KAC will certainly be. I would be careful. Not saying boycott WETTI but just make sure you know all the facts.

ATF issues per WETTI
1. Our upper receiver is a perfect fit for a real bolt (thus possible conversion to a real firing mechanism)

2. The two lock down pins position between the upper & lower receivers, they're exact same as the RS ones (thus possible swap with RS uppers or lowers)

3. Our mag well can accept RS magazines (thus possible usage of RS mags with our bodies)

I don't think airsoft guns could be converted to fire real ammunition. The power of the bullet would just make the gun blow up I think. But what a waist of good guns if they think they can be converted to fire real bullets then they must be good quality.
If the Army and the Navy ever look upon Heavens scene. They will see the streets are guarded by United States Marines.

The ATF recognizes the lower receiver of a M16/M4 platform to be the "gun". You can order upper receivers through the mail with no FFL.

And it's the upper receiver that is taking all of the CUP pressure from the cartridge.

Even if a GBB AIRSOFT lower receiver can be mated to a real upper receiver and fire only one time before malfunction? That is enough for the ATF to consider it a contraband and illegal weapon.

Guess I should have held on to my WE-TECH M4 CQBR. It's famous now.

thing that bothers me is the lack of valid info from the ATF on the issue. what they are creating is a monster.

some kid will think " hey i have a WE M4, i can make it a gun!" or irresponsible people will seek out this replica because they know of the conversion, like felons or someone who shouldnt have guns.

and if during the ATF testing the round actually went down the pipe is one thing, but what actually happened during the test?.... if anything they should state that it did work but was extreamly unsafe and the preasures created blew the reciver apart, thus making the conversion undesireable, and the ban that much more valid. because noone wants to pull the trigger and be the one to go and have thier hands or other body parts blown clean off.

its just bad all around if you ask me.

i own a WETTI M4 and have no desire or intentions of doing said conversion. to do so would be....well....foolish.

This is what happens when you live in an alarmist-minded culture. People are more likely to react to things they have no real knowledge of as being dangerous by default.
