Airsoft in New Zealand

Postby Zeta Crossfire » Sun Feb 07, 2010 7:22 pm

my friend showed this to me the other day. Its a new zealand news story about airsoft. Its nice to see a news story about airsoft and not have it be a condemning story about how airsoft is bad or something along those lines.

Makes me think that someone should call up fox 12 and invite them to faction wars.

It's cool that those airsofters got a fair and favorable story about our sport in their local media. Sharing airsoft with portland news has been tried before a couple of years ago, and the folks who tried it ended up in a very negative light (group was the D-boys out of Salem). You have no control over how the journalist is going to report the story, and we can ill afford the negative press.

Airsoft in the NW doesn't stand to benefit from news exposure, while these blokes from NZ were facing bans on their full auto replicas.

As far as airsoft is concered, people will always missunderstand what it's about, and if someone wants to play it, they will find a way. Things can only get worse though, IMHO, just look at the UK

There are way to many homoerotic moments in airsoft.

Here's the news headline that would result from a reporters trip to a game:

"Local Psychopaths engage in homoerotic fantasies while playing with toy guns"
