Prepay:

This event costs $20 prepay, or $25 at the door. To prepay, send a paypal payment to:

events@sotaairsoft.com

Prepay will remain open until the night before the event, to give all players the opportunity to get the discounted rate. However, refunds for cancellations will not be issued after April 4th, 2010 (7 days prior to the event). Once you prepay, your name will be listed in bold on the roster. Only prepaid players secure their spot on their respective team and their respective role (DM, Sniper, Support Gunner), where applicable. If you have any questions, please contact myself or Ash via PM, or email events@sotaairsoft.com.

This game is open to all players ages 13 and older. All players must sign the SOTA Events Management waiver and present it at registration. If you are under the age of 18, this must also be signed by your parent or legal guardian. Waivers will be available on the field, but we strongly encourage participants to print and fill out the waiver prior to arriving at registration to aid in minimizing registration time for all participants. The event waiver is available here.

SOTA will not be following the traditional AirsoftPacific FPS model at Ash Bash III. Instead, the following regulations will apply. This will be the FPS format for all future SOTA events. All weapons will be chronographed and zip-tied before the game. To ensure the safety of all participants, FPS limits will be strictly enforced, and anyone caught violating these limits will be asked to leave the field.

Due to the fluctuation of camo pattern popularity, colored arm bands MAY BE USED during the game if there is a clear imbalance of team size. Pre-registered players will have preference to stay on the force they registered for, players who did not pre-pay are subject to being moved to other forces.

Weapon and FPS Regulations:

CQC Weapons Platforms (P90, MP5, UMP etc) - 330FPS
Combat Rifles (M4, M16, G36, AK47, etc) - 400FPS
Support Weapons (M249, M60, M240b, RPK, etc) - 400FPS

DMR and Bolt Platforms have a minimum engagement distance of 50ft

DMR Weapons (M14, SR25, SL8, etc) - 475FPS*
Bolt Actions - 550FPS

*DMR Platforms must be PHYSICALLY INCAPABLE of fully-automatic fire.

THIS WILL BE A MIDCAP-ONLY EVENT. Box magazines are only to be used on pre-authorized support platforms (as listed above). Do NOT show up with an M4 and a box mag. Participants caught using "hi cap" magazines will be asked return to the staging area and may only re-enter the game once their magazines have been approved by an administrator. Repeat offenders will be asked to leave the field.

Camping:

Camping will be permitted, for free, at the field the night before the game, 4/10.

Camping will open at 4:00PM. Depending on turnout, there may be early registration and chrono, at SOTA's discretion.

THIS IS A DRY FIELD. If you want to get shitfaced, do it at home. Anyone caught consuming alcohol will be asked to leave, and to forfeit any event fees rendered.

Please be respectful of other campers and avoid engaging in obnoxious and excessively loud shenanigans after 1:00AM.

Bring garbage bags or whatever, and take any shit you bring in back out with you!

Event Timeline:

Registration and Chrono Opens: 8:45AM
Registration and Chrono Closes: 9:45AM
Raffle: 10:00AM
Briefing: 10:30AM

Round 1: 11:00 - 12:00
Lunch: 12:15 - 12:45
Round 2: 1:00 - 2:00
Round 3: 2:15 - 3:15

Closing Announcements/Lost and Found/Endex: 3:30

SOTA will be making a concerted effort to adhere to this timeline as closely as possible. Please arrive early enough to prepare your gear and chronograph prior to briefing. Your cooperation is strongly appreciated.

Gameplay

Please read this section carefully.

Zones:

This will be a three-way zone/sector control game. Scores are determined based upon the number of zones controlled by each team at the end of each round, with the values of each zone varying for each team. There will be seven "zones" on the field, clearly outlined with colored stakes. These zones will each contain an objective, (building, pump house, oil rig, etc). The value of each objective may vary based upon what team you are on, but irrespective of the value of the objective, if your team controls a zone they may spawn in that zone, at the objective, as long as the zone is not contested by an enemy force.

A Contested Zone is defined as any zone which contains at least one member of an enemy force within the marked area.

There will be no flag flipping or other standard sector control tools. Instead, to control a zone, at least one member of your force must be present within the marked area (think: Risk).

Each team will start with one zone each, their primary zone, and will not have a fall-back spawn point. Therefore, it is possible to lose control of all of your sectors, meaning you are not able to respawn until your team re-acquires a sector. In theory, it is possible, then, to eliminate an entire team from play. In the unlikely event that this occurs, the eliminated team will sit out until the next round begins.

Each objective will be monitored by an administrator assigned to that zone. They have the final authority to determine whether or not a zone is contested and whether or not your team may spawn there.

Special Weapons

Each force will be allotted a certain number of special weapons, which will be regulated differently for each team. A special weapon is defined as any Support Weapon, Designated Marksman Rifle, or Sniper Rifle. The regulation is as follows:

US Military:

3 Support Weapons
3 Sniper Rifles
3 DMRs

BZ Corporation:

6 Support Weapons
0 Sniper Rifles
3 DMRs

The Hopeful:

0 Support Weapons
No more than 9 total DMR and Sniper Rifles (combined), distribution is irrelevant.

As you can see, each team has certain capabilities the others do not. This is to encourage realistic differences in the firepower of each force. No one team should be at a disadvantage compared to any other assuming that they properly distribute and utilize their special weapons.

Advanced Weapons

Each team will, in addition to special weapons, possess the ability to acquire one advanced weapon. How this weapon is implemented will vary, again based upon the nature of the force that possesses it, but each advanced weapon will perform a similar large-scale, game-modifying function. Similar to how airstrikes and mortars work in classic games, the use of these weapons will be incredibly limited.

No team will start with advanced weapons capabilities, but instead will have to assemble or gather the components necessary to active their weapon. Each team will have certain props that are related to their weapon. These props are clearly marked with the name of the team that can use them, and they will offer no value to the other teams. Sabotaging, moving, hiding, transporting, or camping on any prop belonging to another team is prohibited. If an administrator sees any of the aforementioned activities they will call you out and make you walk back to your spawn.

Force commanders will be aware of the weapon available to their team and how to access and use it. Only the force commander can activate the weapon.

Primary and Secondary Objectives

As mentioned above, each force will have a primary zone. This will be their starting point and most fortified position. Each team will have a primary and secondary objective involving the the enemy primary zones, and the point value of each zone will be relative to the team trying to take it.

Securing a Primary Obective: 300 Points
Securing a Secondary Objective: 200 Points
Securing a Tertiary Objective: 100 Points Each (Any sector not occupied by an enemy Primary Zone)

Securing is defined as holding the objective at the end of the round.

The Primary Zones for each team are as follows:

The Hopeful- New Eden Compound (NEC)
US Military- Fort Irwin (FI)
BZ Corporation -Monterey Advanced Defense Engineering Laboratory (MADEL)

The Hopeful

Primary Objective: Capture BZ Corporation's Primary Zone (MADEL) to secure advanced weapons and technologies.

Secondary Objective: Resist the US Forces assault and capture their Primary Zone (FI).

US Forces

Primary Objective: Capture The Hopeful's Primary Zone (NEC) to secure and capture their oil reserves.

Secondary Objective: Resist the BZ Corporation assault and capture their Primary Zone (MADEL).

BZ Corporation

Primary Objective: Capture the US Forces Primary Zone (FI) to secure their base and weaponry.

Secondary Obective: Resist The Hopeful's assault and capture their Primary Zone (NEC).

Dead rags (preferably red or orange) will be required.

It's our annual celebration of Ash's (Mike's) birthday. Traditionally, the gameplay is lighthearted, inexpensive, and comes with a free lunch.
