gun firing of cue, (without pulling the trigger)

Postby Patrick750 » Sat Jan 02, 2010 3:24 pm

so i have a ca m4 with an elite 8.4 1500 nimh battery in it. when i take it off safety and put it in semi it would fire a round. i think it may have to do with a wiring problem. it could be the battery but i haven't tried it with a different one yet. does anyone know what's causing it and if it's and easy fix. it's not that big of a problem, i guess i just have to aim at the ground when i take it of safety, and store it with the battery out.

There's a short circuit somewhere. My guess is that someone took the gun apart and reassembled the selector switch wrong.

It's not the battery. You have a ground fault of some kind. It could be that when you reassembled it you pinched/punctured/stripped a wire which is, in turn, touching your metal body and causing the short.

I'd at the very least check to make sure your wires are in good shape. You or somebody else has damaged them. Depending on the level of damage, you may want to replace them.
