I have owned both and the 26 in real steel and they shoot nearly identically and surprisingly with the 26 (compact) my qualifacation scores were equal, even with the much shorter barrel. Great guns real and airsoft. I am an armorer for the real steel version if any of you need work on the real thing.....easy to work on , they rarely ever fail...my pet gun brand.

Yeah the compact of the gun, feels alot easier to control.
Looks like i'll be letting go of the 17 for sure.
And fishing around offers for the 19.

Generally the G19 is a handier piece, but since you aren't going to carry CCW in airsoft, it doesn't make all that much of a difference. I just hate the G26. The gun is so tiny that your fingers are left dangling unless you use the grip extension pads, in which case you might as well have bought a G19.

I'm assuming you mean "Automatic Colt Pistol?" While you can convert a G17 to a .40 S&W G22 quite easily as the frames and slides are the same size (making sure the frame is two-pin), the .45 ACP Glock 21 is quite a bit larger, and it isn't possible to convert the common variants into it. I believe you can convert between 10mm Auto and .45 ACP, but I'm not absolutely sure on that. If you mean .380 ACP, there are blowback Glocks in such calibers, but they're illegal for US importation.
