WINTERSTURM FEB 12-14

Feb 12-14 The War Department presents a Battle of the Bulge scenario. In keeping with the format used at Jump to Destiny blank and airsoft weaponry will be used. The scenario will center around the opening of the German offensive in the town of St. Vith. German armor will be in attendance.

From the guys who brought you Jump To Destiny and Recondo 09-01 comes the next installment of historical military simulation in the Pacific Northwest. Event location and costs will be announced shortly. The location will most likely be the Portland, OR area. It is our goal to keep costs under $50.

First post. Woohoo.

Anyways, it sounds very neat and i am looking forward to it. Do we need to have WWII guns due to the scenario?

Oh and give more info on it otherwise Matt might chew you out, hehe.

After going to Jump To Destiny I will tell you that War Dept events are serious re-enactments. They will post minimum impression requirements. They had a small amount of rental gear at JTD such as helmets, uniforms and M1 Rifle AEGs (converted M14s) and I'm sure they'll have it again as first come, first served.

That being said, you have 4 months to gear up! Trust me, their events are worth it and you'll be amazed how addictive WW2 militaria collecting ends up being. I was considering starting a US impression and this is stimulus to do so.

There were over 100 people at our last event. If you want to fulfill that WW2 fantasy you've had since you were a little kid, but don't have any gear, then now is the time to start putting an impression together. No one expects you to be perfect, but we like to see an honest effort. Any questions about gear or other things can be answered at thewardept.org. Like lettucehead said, some gear will be available for rental.

I might have to dust off my Panzer Truppen uniform for this one. Although ending on Valentine's Day doesn't bode to well for me. My wife might not appreciate that.
