Discussion of GBB (gas blowback) replicas.

could be missing a bearing. The WE scars had issues out of the box. I have the metal balls if you want to come by the shop.

Well, I took it apart and had a look at it, I have all the pieces, down to the black plastic thing inside the hopup unit. I even reread Evike's guide, but still no dice. Busted rubber? I shot .25's though it, and I've heard that if you use heavier BB's, it'll rip it up. But would that really stop me from actually seeing any adjustment?

Most likely its a busted rubber. The black rubber hopups tend to be more delicate than the green (v2) ones. Another problem is that not all the rubbers are the same. Some have a thicker bucking than others so you have to get one thats just right. Not too thick or your shots will curve upward with little to no hop and not too thin or you won't get any hop at all.

Barrels are around 50 to 60% ready :) sit tight.

Sorry, I phrased that wrong. The rubber is a green one, I was talking about a piece inside of the hop itself.

Weren't the black rubbers v2?

That rubber is always black.

The rubber that changed colors is the little ring around the back of the brass barrel above.

I apologize, I must have not been clear. I'm aware that the rubbers have different colors, I was just mentioning I had all the pieces, including the small hard-to-see piece in the hop up unit.

And thank you everyone for all your answers and contributions, it really means a lot.

On a further note of the WE SCARs, has anyone had any experience with http://www.airsoft123.com/index_eproduct_view.php?products_id=15#

My FPS is a bit... high... and I was wondering if that would be a viable solution. I spoke to Seagreen and he said it was a go, but I wouldn't mind getting a second opinion.

Interesting item...

Though from what I know, the SCAR is adjustable in it's own right. You just need to move the floating valve (that piece of metal attached to the little o-ring inside your nozzle) to a more forward position. Moving it back raises the FPS, moving it forward lowers it.

Also another thing I learned when reassembling your gun is that you attach the rubber Mongoose pointed out to the end of the barrel before you insert it into your gun.

This maybe a dumb question but what is the rubber mongoose?

Where am I missing punctuation?

However you are missing both punctuation and capital letters. ;)

DOH!! It just dawned on me. Maybe I shouldn't be answering posts so bloody early and with no coffee. I now know what you meant Pulsipher and I'm feeling really, really dumb.

Likewise, I should refrain from posting while under the effects of a migraine.

Oh wow, that is actually news to me, Freon... I assume it the further you push it forward, the less gas is allowed through?
