Right, sounds like we had plenty of hostages, but too bad you can't make it!

PLAYER HANDBOOK UPLOADED

Hi folks, I just finished up the Player Handbook for CounterStruck. Refer to this handbook for all of the game details - this is your bible. It's not nearly as complicated as the CQC competition, but it's always nice to have all of the details in one place.

Please note: the handbook is subject to change or be updated in the future, we'll keep everyone up to date if new versions are posted.

Ummm i don't know if you wanted this to be exactly like Counter Strike. But if even one hostage makes it and the other three die. The Counter Terrorist win... that prevents the terrorist from just Executing the hostages.

Not according to this wiki doc:
http://whisper.ausgamers.com/wiki/index ... ter-Strike

Maybe it's changed in newer versions but that's the way I always remember it - the number of hostages rescued had to be at least half the original hostage count - or the round wouldn't end. You'd have to kill the remaining terrorists to win. And it has nothing to do with terrorists killing hostages, they lose ridiculous amounts of money for killing hostages - or in our case, they're penalized by having to wait longer to respawn, which could cost them the next round.

I remember we use to cheat as Counter Terroist in the 1.6 version. Before Steam even came out and took over for Seirra. We would leave 3 hostages so the terrorist thought they had all of them and just take one and rescue it then go grenade the other 3... So idk. maybe it's different in Counter Strike Source.

Hey, sorry Matt. I'm going to have to drop the PLA 5 slots. I'm not going, and a lot of the PLA are going as hostages, so it looks like if PLA people do go, it'll be on an individual level.

Also, do i need a waiver for both days because i am being a hostage for both days?

Not trying to be repetitive but does anyone know about this? Also i am POSITIVE i can make it ill do research on what to wear.
Yes, you DO need a parent to sign any legal document before you are 18. This includes the AP and CAGE waivers.

PDX CAGE waivers aren't available on their website, and my understanding behind the reasoning is because those parents or guardians need to sign them in person. This may change, but as the facility owners they are liable and I can understand why they would have this requirement.

PRICE REDUCED / DETAILS CHANGED!

Hi folks. Please read the updated FIRST POST in the thread. As you will notice the price of the game has been reduced to $25 for a full day of play. Why have we done this? Well, the long of the short is hardly anybody is pre-paying. Maybe it's the cost of the event, maybe there's just too many events - I don't know - but we can't afford to invest in props and special effects if we can't be sure the money will be there. So that's simple, we just won't! You save bucks, we still run a fun game, we shoot each other and everybody wins.

Instead, we decided to open up the format. You can show up and play at any time. The maps still have 10 vs 10 or possibly 12 vs 12 maximum players, but we'll cycle out players if we have more than 40-48 at the location at a given time. You can play either Saturday or Sunday, and switch sides or maps as often as you want (keep in mind it may take a while to re-insert you into the game if you do). We will also try to setup skirmishes in the maze arena if the Counter-Strike maps fill up.

What can you expect? Fast paced 10 minute rounds of Counter-Strike style game-play, a bomb map with an electronic bomb device, a hostage rescue map with live hostages, and maps designed to eliminate bottlenecks and support objectives based rounds that are fast and exciting!

We hope to see you all there.

ON SIGN UPS - I think I got everybody who RSVP'd before on my new roster. This will become the new RSVP thread. So, if you want to come to the event, read the sign up instructions on the first page of this thread. Thanks!

Thanks! If we get 8 dedicated hostages I can have them take shifts so they can both play and act as a hostage if they want. And of course they'll play for free because they're volunteering as hostages.

Ooh, count me in for a hostage and player on Saturday.
