Ya this game was great. It easily ranks as one of the top games I have ever been to. Some reasons:

-Actors with an extremely high level of commitment including costumes
-Plot events that unfolded like I was in a first-person shooter, kind of railroaded you but not directly.
-The feeling of tension as you are waiting for the bodies to get up and come at you again.
-The scene was excellent for a zombie game, very creepy.
-Addition of non-primary objectives like securing food, extra hostages, etc.
-The scripting by non-zombie actors. Hearing our extraction ride getting taken out and then seeing him as a zombie later, hearing the guy locked in the pumphouse with actual zombie sounds in the background as he was radioing to us.
-The final scene at the van with way too many zombies and an awesome driveoff.
-Kendo looking like he belonged in the thriller video.

I wish there would have been a camera in the van as we drove away. The sight of zombies clawing at the window, running after us in the dust stuck with me for a few days.

Great game Ivan, thanks for making it happen. Look forward to your next event.

Ivan, you should do sci-fi/horror games all in this vein. Vampires, werewolves, alien crash site, etc...
For the alien crash site, there should be townspeople, aliens, and military.
Vampire slayers...

Just a suggestion. Your house is just an amazing setting full of limitless possibilities.

Creative ideas Scythe.

Now that my head is no longer throbbing with fluids and pain I can say that DbD was super fun times. I said it before and I'll say it again, this game gave me happy flash backs to the first Night. The carnage. The blood. The zombie sounds coming from the dark but you don't know where they are because you can only hear them. I liked how the vehicles worked out for the game. It added an extra "oh shat" factor for the teams.

Good times.

I'll think about it.

It was never my idea to host zombie games. Hell, it was never my idea to host any games.

When I was on PSC, Randal wanted to host games at my house, or said I should.
Bigfoot wanted to do the zombie game Night 1.
I helped out and couldn't stop.

Dead by Dawn movie.

Postby Punisher129 » Thu Oct 01, 2009 11:15 am

Hey Ivan! I finally got the Dead by Dawn up on YouTube. I had some issues again, but I finally resolved them. The video I put up is the longer version of the game, not the short one. Here's the link:

Enjoy![/youtube]

Great story-telling! I get bored by a lot of airsoft videos, but this was good in itself. :)

Good stuff. Even my wife liked this video. She laughed at the winnebago shenanigans, and she never likes airsoft videos.

Hey Ivan! I finally got the revised edit of the "Dead By Dawn" trailer up and running. I had some audio problems but I worked them out (I think). This new video has voice overs and sound effects.

Tell me what you think. I'm working on getting the whole game that I shot up on You Tube. It's about 53 minutes, and there will be at least 7 Parts to the video, since I can't upload the whole thing on You Tube. This will be mostly unedited from begining to end. I should have it done soon. I'll let you know when it's up.

Thanks. The sound is fine. A little quite in some places but not a big problem.

We're planning the next one in the spring time.

There's a few audio problems with that one.
I still loved watching it though.

Dead By Dawn Videos

Postby Punisher129 » Fri Oct 30, 2009 11:20 am

I got the rest of the Dead By Dawn game up on You Tube. Sorry about the audio in some areas. I'm transfering everything onto my flash drive. Unfortunatly it can't hold much info so sometimes the transfer from computer to the drive can be scratchy. I'm trying to fix it. Anyway, enjoy the rest of the game!

Hey Ivan, I'm going to take down some of the Dead by Dawn videos. Part Three turned out really bad so I redid the video. There are a few glitches but it's better than the one on You Tube right now. All the videos should be back up by tommorrow.
