He was saying October because if you read the Airsoftammo post the next faction wars is in October... You have got to set it around HALLOWEEN!

Man, do I love that field... Even though my gun was giving me trouble I still managed to have a blast. In my opinion this topped Grid 18 hands down!
Go ahead and run, I'll just shoot you in the a$$!

Ack. That's after duck and pheasant season opens. Bummer. I'll probably be carrying around real steel that weekend.

The knife fighting thing has always bothered me. We aren't out here for hand to hand combat, and even though we're using rubber knives there's still a chance that somebody could get hurt. Also some people can't keep their cool while sparring, which can lead to an actual fist fight if somebody gets agitated. I think knife kills are better if left as a simple tap on the shoulder with the plastic or rubber knife.

Anyway - killjoying aside, I'm sad I missed this event. I made other plans and used up my free weekend for EHII, which was canceled. *grumble*

Matt, when was the last time that you saw a knife fight turn into a physical fight, and not just a couple of guys having fun? The only knife fights I've seen involved Duke, Tombstone, Bill, Mono, and Switch. I know all of those persons would never let something like this digress to a full on fist fight. And I don't see "joe noob" showing up to games to knife fight with people.

While your point is valid, I think that with the people in this community who enjoy the hand to hand sparring, there is little to worry about. It's when that one new guy shows up to show off his 1337 skills and gets his a$$ handed to him that we need to worry.

I'll be out there to run the night games and dress up as a correspondent for the daytime game. I just wish people would return my relay batons rather than keeping them as prizes...

I'm not really concerned about the duels turning into fistfights, but, seriously, folks, confine that stuff to the evening entertainment or realize that anyone watching or participating in the duels runs a pretty good chance of getting shot by OPFOR or friendly forces wondering why you're taking so long.
