It's because there has been a lot of growth within the community lately; a huge influx of inexperienced players who bought their first set of Multicam/Woodland to match their tennis shoes, and a $100 Echo1, and think that they are going hit everything they see. They have little to no skirmish experience and don't know that airsoft weapons (*especially* cheap, stock weapons) don't have nearly the range and accuracy many would expect them to. So yes, when you "lit a guy up" in the middle of an open field, and he didn't call his out, it's probably not because he's a hacker, but rather that your BBs were landing 30 feet in front of him. Most games have fuckbag assclowns that don't call their outs, but it's not nearly as prevalent as many players seem to think.

Did you have those gold teeth on? Ivan got shot in one of his front 4 teeth and got it chipped. I imagine it also hurts pretty bad. I also saw a woodland guy running and he apparently didnt see the trench and stepped into and slammed into the otherside. I helped him up and then saftey killed him.

I loved the kid that I shot in the back of the helmet from like 30 feet away and he claimed to "Not see it" so it didn't count. So I just lit him up from about 20 feet away and asked if he saw it then.

Lol I had a similar situation with some person in ACU; Snake-Eyes nailed him and he started yelling at us that we never hit him so I popped up and hosed him with the Mac 11 with about 12 rounds, it was beautiful. Much vengence in this event.

This. There's nothing wrong with new players, but a few minutes on a known distance firing course to explain the difference between your 350 FPS AEG, my 403 FPS AEG, and the 550 FPS bolt platform run by some of our snipers in terms of reach would open a lot of eyes.

I was the unintetional target of several "volleys" because folks were shooting at something behind/near me. Another thing, folks: firing into the air at an angle will not make your BBs travel further. In fact, as you might recall from physics class in high school, they'll actually travel a shorter distance, just striking at a different angle. Bracketing only works for mortars.

First off I would like to say thanks to SOTA for being such an awesome and welcoming force... very classy team.

Second, with the people not calling their hits, I got accused of being hit after taking a shot to my saw that was standing next to my leg. I agree with people not realizing their accuracy and range are off. My TL called me out so it is what it is. It's a game and people need to chill... I don't think people are cheating but just not feeling the hits with all the gear everyone wears for a MilSim event.

Great Job to US SF Command all around

Did the guy happen to be the one in all acu and the acu helmet?

oh hey, I lit that guy up too, at the speedball course, he even turned his head away as the bb's impacted, and he just kept running until he got behind cover. Real classy dude.

Had a great time, and I didnt even participate the 3rd round (had enough of weapon failures, didnt want to push my luck)
Thanks for the good times everyone.

I think that I was the shooter in this case.
First off I would like to apologize for getting a little angry.
Thinking back on it I believe what happened was I hit your gun and your plate carrier. Obviously you couldn't feel, and I think you couldn't hear it over your gun being hit.
I saw a BB hit you in the chest and one hit your gun.
I understand how the mistake could have been made. Not your fault.

Also I don't think Multicam should be singled out for not calling hits. We were fighting against them the most so we wouldn't notice our guys or woodland's guys cheating.

The BB hit my left central incisor bounced off, hit and chipped my left lateral incisor. The central incisor that took the original hit hurt, the chipped tooth did not.
The gun that did it was shooting<330 and was at least 50 feet away. My guess would be 70. Absolutely no ones fault but my own.

I had a good time at this game.
The field is great, but a little close to the I-5/Salem Parkway off ramp.
Rick, you did a good job hosting this game. I had fun despite chipping a tooth.
Suggestions for next time: Use an air horn for signaling game on/off

i had multiple occasions where people were shooting at me and having their rounds drop 40-50 feet short. on large, open fields like that it happens a lot. i also had at least one occasion where the incoming fire was traveling so slowly by the time it got to me that i could dodge the individual rounds, matrix style.

also wombat, i dont know that your idea of firing on an arcing trajectory being similar or shorter range is correct. if you fire or throw something on a 45 degree angle, it has to travel back down while still moving at speed. the longer it takes for the projectile to hit the ground, the farther it will travel, so long as it keeps its momentum. its not like the projectile just loses all its momentum at a specified range and falls from the sky. indirect fire in airsoft is retarded and annoying, but it is effective.

About arcing Bb's....

Given no air resistance and hop up effect:

If a gun is 2 m off the ground, and fires a 100m/s projectile parallel to the ground, it will take .632 seconds for the projectile to fall to the ground (assuming gravity is 10m/s2) .632 seconds x 100m/s = 63.2 m range.

Now, if the gun fires at a 45 degree angle, it will have an overall flight time of ~14 seconds. cos 45 = .707, so the bb will have a velocity of 70.7 m/s both upwards and sideways. Assuming no air resistance, the BB would fly 989 m  ... Which isn't quite accurate.

But with hop up and air resistance, I'm not sure. I'd think arcing would work to some extent though.

Anyways, back on topic, thanks to SOTA for organizing USSF and especially Aeono for fixing my gun.
