Recon/Sniper Field Exercise 26-27 September, 2009

Recon teams can now have 3-8 guys.

People have asked what the basic flow of the day will be. So here it is (without giving away too many details).

Everyone arrives.
Basic safety briefing.
Orders are distributed (via envelope)
Sniper teams deploy
Recon teams deploy

Dunedain Rangers are interested in having a recon team with us. Are we allowed to have a sniper, and anti-sniper weaponry within our Recon team? Just double checking.

Also, anyone maybe want to carpool down to Eugene for this? Wobat i know you are near me.

You may have any typical airsoft weapons you like with you. You may also have a recon team and a sniper team in the field (as long as you understand that they won't be working together).

Also, you realize this is near Grants Pass, not Eugene, right?

Folks,

The van is struck. "Starting" prices were looking to be something like $35 a head, not including gas. Renting a damned van is bloody expensive. I'll let you know if this changes.

Variable,

Are teams on the same side (Recon and Sniper) of the event prohibited from working together?

Recon will assume snipers are hostile unless otherwise ordered (and vice versa).

This also means that if team "Awesome Cougars" sends a recon team and a sniper team to this exercise, that the Awesome Cougars Recon team will be hostile towards Awesome Cougars Sniper team.

I meant that if Awesome Cougars and Wombat's Raiders, both of whom are running recon, bump into one another, are we allowed to cooperate or do we run away from one another?

You'll assume other recon units are friendly unless your orders state otherwise. I'm not going to pull any kind of switcheroo on anyone. It will state exactly who is hostile in the paper orders.

Dunedain Rangers are interested in the Carpool with Wombat. We might need to pick up a few of our players in Euguene. Can you take us all back?

Variable, So if one of our Rangers had a sniper, and only him, he would not be allowed to recon, but would be part of the Sniper teams and be hostile to us? Am i following right?

And are there any other objectives throughout the scenerio for the recon team and sniper teams besides kill eachother?

Any Vehicles involved?

Respawn rules?

Now I get your Eugene comment ;)

-Your recon guys may carry sniper rifles.
-There will be recon oriented objectives. It isn't a 24 hour long skirmish.
-Vehicles are not involved other than getting you to the site.
-Respawns will be at a team level. If/when you take casualties, you won't be out of the game for too long.
