Night Part 2 - Thank You All!

Louis Kirkland and the small group of survivors from the farmland militia successfully escaped in the Winnebago with a small supply of gasoline. They headed north with the intent of making it to the secluded forests of Canada. Their vehicle ran out of gas leaving them stranded in Portland. The small group found shelter in a large meatpacking facility in the northern part of the city. They secured most of the entrances and took up shelter from the creatures. For 3 days they relaxed and enjoyed the shelter from the looming terror that was just outside their door. However strange sounds started coming from the depths of the building's massive pitch dark rooms. A quick search of the building revealed more than just a small hole in the exterior wall. Zombies have been entering for days and now they are spread out everywhere waiting in the dark. To make matters worse a large gas leak is spreading natural gas throughout the building.

Do you and your team have what it takes to survive the horrors of the night?

This is a time-slot based competition. This means that you and your team are alone in the building with hoards of flesh eating zombies. There will not be two different teams running at the same time. This is a competition not an Operation. May those who have the most brains at the end win.

When: Time slots start on September 26th and go through till the 27th. There will be a skirmish on the 26.
Where: PDX CAGE
Cost: $25 at the door or $20 prepaid.
Age limit: 12 and up.

Objectives:
Primary: Turn off gas leak and start up ventilation system.
Primary 2: Locate and seal off opening in the building's exterior walls.

More minor objectives to be added soon.

Groups:
Group size will be a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 12. You must have at-least 4 people in your group to reserve a slot. You do NOT have to be apart of an organized airsoft team to enjoy this event. If you and your buddies want to join up and take a slot that's fine. Don't feel like you need to be a super serious player to enjoy this game either. All you need is a pistol and you're set.

Game-play: This will be a full immersion competition. You will have some time to load up your magazines and get your gear together. You will be reminded of safety rules and then briefed on the objectives. Then you will plunged into the game until you are finished. Admins will be along to make sure no rules are being broken and that everyone is safe. But they will not be interfering much more than that. You will be scored based on several criteria and the team with the best score will be declared the winner.

Rules:

Ammo; All ammo will be provided for you. You do not need to bring your own. Each team no matter how many players will receive the same amount of ammo. (It won't be very much folks.) You will be able to find additional ammo on the field but it will be scarce. Use your heads to get around zombies instead of just shooting them.

Zombies; All zombies will be slow stumblers. More like the Night of the Living Dead and Shaun of the Dead Zombies. They will only infect you when they get two hands on your body. Once that happens then you are to put down your guns and join them. Don't worry being a zombie is way more fun than shooting them. Because of safety concerns for our actors we require you to shoot them in the chest for a take down. Limb hits are crippling, for a short time.

Weapons; All replicas must shoot under 330 FPS with a .20 gram bb. Hi-caps are not allowed. (Both auto winding and regular) Mid-caps, standards, and low-caps are only allowed for AEGs. Bolt actions are allowed, but they must meet the velocity limit.

Melee weapons; Blunt objects like baseball bats and riot batons are not allowed. Rubber training knives (like the Cold Steel replicas) ARE allowed for this event. To insure safe use a short demonstration will be given to those who wish to use knives before the game. Also the knives will be checked to make sure they cannot cause any injury. Knives will not kill zombies. A knife attack on a zombie will slow him down and disable their offensive abilities, for a short time.

Flashlights; This game will be dark. Almost completely dark in most areas. A flashlight or tactical light located on your gun or somewhere on your person is Highly Recommended.

Other:

Clothing and gear;
If you want to wear full tactical gear for this event then go ahead. Keep in mind that there is a chance that fake blood will get on your cloths at this game. If you don't want to stain your $80 set of BDU's then I suggest that you wear an old pair of cloths that you don't care about.

Plan your team tactics and ask questions here. Use this thread for signing up your group and to reserve time slots.

This thread is for signing up for the event ONLY! All irrelevant posts will be removed without warning.

Just to clarify a few obvious things. All zombies are actors, but not all actors are zombies. If you want to be a zombie then contact me and show up for both days. You do not need to be in a group to be a zombie. You do not need to sign up for a time slot to be a zombie.

Make sure you have at least 4 people in your group before you reserve a time slot. If most of your group bails and you do not have enough people to compete then you can still go. You just need to see if another group that has room will take you in.

IMPORTANT UPDATE PLEASE READ:

We, PDX CAGE and I, have decided to move the event date back one week and drop the price of entry fee. Now the event will take place on September 26th and 27th and entry will only be $25 per person at the door and $20 prepaid. We hope this change doesn't keep anyone from participating in this event but will only give you the chance to make it down for some zombie killin fun.

Thanks

Bigfoot

Need actors?

I'd love to volunteer, but it'd be cool to run with a team too. Hmm.

Yes we do need actors about 10-20.

Anyone is welcome to come act as a zombie. We will try our best to give away some prizes to those who help out. And we will provide a couple meals. :) But forget all that glittery stuff, being a zombie is tons of fun. Just ask those people who were acting last year.

So, get a few other people together and make a pickup team?

It's really not that hard.

Singles can join together and form a group.

The reason for this is to prevent a nightmare. It would not be good if a full team of 12 had to miss out on this event because one person has taken a full slot for their self. I'm sure you can find 3 other people to run with you before the event.

I'll start a thread for you guys to post your planning and team prep stuff in.
