Kitty Paws 96 – INVASION – JULY 26 2009 – VAUGHN, WA

Top Pentagon Official Kidnapped – North Korea suspected

July 24, 2009 - Friday – Senior Spokesman for the Whitehouse announced today that a high ranking official was taken hostage by an unknown group Thursday night near Ft. Lewis located in Washington State. While nothing had been confirmed, it was speculated that North Korean Special Forces may have been behind the attack that left 6 dead and 3 wounded. The Whitehouse has refused to comment on who was taken hostage.

Sources close to the Pentagon say that it is likely that the group responsible is likely still in the country and close to Ft. Lewis. “They came in by ground. Most likely swam in from the Pacific Ocean and traveled from the Coast to here.â€

Kitty Paws Background:

Kitty Paws was named Kitty Paws as a parody to Lion Claws. We attended several of the LC series and referred to it internally as Kitty Paws. We numbered it 24 for a few reasons. It was our 24 event, it was a 24 hour event and as a joke as in "The Naked Gun: 33 1/2". I always thought it was funny that events had numbers after them but now we have run ten events in the Total War series and have several events that have been run 4 times.

When we ran KP24, there were only one or two large events in Washington/Oregon each year. KP24 was the first event we ran with over 100 people (and we did it with 3 staff!). We have people from all over the PNW come out to the KP series. Previously the big event was called Gallant Saber but it wasn't being run that year and we wanted to have a large regional event.

I'm sure the old timers can tell you some stories about Kitty Paws. Ask around. There's even a gallery of KP24 here: http://media.airsoftpacific.com/main.php/v/ops/kp24/

Hope we can get some of our Oregon brother back up to Washington and sling some plastic.

(and yes we will have camping available on Saturday night :) )

Kitty Paws 24 (2005) was based on a near future attack by North Korea on the West coast with Nukes it got from the Ukraine. A Middle Eastern Coalition had kidnapped Russian scientists who were working on radiation shielding technology in remote Washington. A small area of Washington (near Sultan) was saved from the Nuclear fallout but the West Coast was left for dead until US intelligence found out about the shielded area and sent in a unit to recover it. Other countries found out and sent units as well. The event ended with the shield collapsing and the Russian escaping with portable shielding technology.

Kitty Paws 48 (2006) ( http://www.battlesim.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=97 ) was the next in the series. While US Forces were able to dominate at the original operation they sustained massive losses due to radiation poisoning and were forced to exfil the area without recovering any of the data on the radiation shielding technology. The United States had assumed that the other combatants in the area suffered a similar fate and the army retained several privately contracted firms to begin work on a similar project entitled: KP48.

It turned out that not everyone was wiped out when the shielding technology system failed. In fact, the Russians had sabotaged the power thus causing the system failure. They had obtained a working version of the portable shielding device . While the Russian scientists did not make it out alive during Kitty Paws 24 - the Russians operatives in the area were able to secure enough of their work to start up the project again. With a semi-working shielding device intact, the Russians moved.

Now the US Army has been called again to secure the technology. With a working proto-type of a US developed shielding technology, a special Task Force has been assembled to move into the area and recover or destroy the project! This time, the Russians are ready and the battlefield will be marred with radiation pockets.

Kitty Paws 72 (2007) (http://www.battlesim.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=169) - Was a prequel to Kitty Paws 24. In the months before the North Korean nuclear strike on the US, they had to obtain several Nuclear missiles for their strikes on the UK and Taiwan. Most important were 6 ICBMs under the control of Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists. While North Korea's secret nuclear program had created several missiles capable of striking the United State's West coast, they did not have the range to strike the UK.

Now Kitty Paws 96 (2009) is a prequel to Kitty Paws 72. North Koreans are trying to trade a top ranking US official to a secret Russian organization known only as the "Red Wolf".
