5 July - The Bell Project

WHAT: WWII Vs. Modern Time travel event
WHERE: Vaughn, WA
WHEN: 1100 - 1800 5 July
COST: $20 pre-registered / $25 day of event

The Germans are coming!

Die Glocke (German for "The Bell") is the name of a purported top secret Nazi scientific technological device. The only source for this is the books of Polish aerospace defense journalist and military historian Igor Witkowski, which claim it to be a secret weapon, or Wunderwaffe.

Just days after Operation: Overlord, Germany knows that defeat in Europe is unstoppable. Top priority is given to The Bell Project - a highly secret attempt to master time travel. On Wednesday June 14 1944, SS scientists in a German facility known as Der Riese ("The Giant") near the Wenceslas mine open the only known time portal using the Bell device.

Their objective was to travel back in time 5 years and prevent the invasion but something went horribly wrong. Instead of traveling back in time, they traveled forward in time! 65 years to be exact!

When the time line isn't changed, SS scientists worked for months trying to determine what happened. They figure out that they have sent troops to the future but cannot do anything about it as US forces raid the facility and classify all the information found. Leaving nothing to chance, General Eisenhower decides to send forward a small group of American soldiers to the future. He also creates a secret document that is to be forwarded to the Office of the President of the United States and not to be opened until May 1, 2009.

Under advisement from the military, President Obama has a small highly trained and highly secretive joint task force dispatched to the area where the Nazis will appear from the past. Their job is to stop the Germans from using secret weapons to restart WWII and forever doom the free world!

Who's Who?

Multinational Task Force Zulu - US and NATO Forces
30th ID - WWII US Forces
Varied German Units - WWII German Units

Registration is picking up this week and we should have a good turn out. If you have been thinking about trying a Battlesim event, this is a good one to start with. Because of the format there are limited uniform restrictions (you need a military uniform) and no weapon restrictions. It's designed to allow anyone to come regardless of kit. And if you need a uniform/gear we are more than willing to loan you something from our vast collection of gear. Just send me a PM with your size and we can get you all loaded out.

Lastly, I wanted to say that the owner of the field we are using passed away a couple of weeks ago. Bob Campbell was prior service and was a Ranger at Ft. Lewis when 2nd Bat started there in 1974. He went on to serve in 1st SF at Ft. Lewis and was injured in a training jump (he broke his back). He was told he would never jump out of plane again. He proved them wrong and was jumping again in 6 months. That's the kind of guy Bob was. He has done so much for the airsoft community over the last 5 years that I had been working with him and was an outstanding pillar of his church and a inspiration to his community. Honesty, funny and a hell of a guy he will be missed.

Because of this, I have scheduled all of our games out there for the next several months to help out his family who is trying to keep the place running. Without our support I am worried they may not make it. Bob's death was sudden (he got cancer about 3 months ago) and it has a real impact on the family. Many of you may have not been to the Vaughn field but I think it is one of the best in the state and it would be a shame to see it go. For those of you know know Bob, I am sure you will agree with me.

So if you have any interest in this event, please try to make it. Thanks.

Looks like we are not going to get enough people. We only have one German signed up and 4 NATO. I was hoping we would get more as all the sign ups came early this week but even with staff we are only at 8 people for the event. Well wait to make a final call tomorrow afternoon (Friday). We have not charged anyone who pre-paid. Sorry guys, I guess there is very low interest in this type of event. Thanks to those who did sign up. Hopefully the field will continue to stay open in the future.

It's about 30 minutes from Tacoma, so about 2 hours from the PDX area. The field is definitely worth the drive. Multiple bunkers, tunnels, towers and trails and paths. Best field in Washington for sure.

Hmmm. I doubt I will make it but I can talk to them.

Two hours is a little stretch for us.

Jason, I love the idea and you're right, this is an event I'd really like to make. I'm not able to get out to Sunday games, so unfortunately I won't be able to make it.

Everyone else, git yourselves up there. I've driven farther for a game before, so make it count. Remember, you get a game, and you get to help out the family of an honorable soldier who has passed away.
