Discussion of load-bearing equipment, tactical gear, holsters, BDUs, and other gear related to Airsoft.

Geez, just wanted an opinion what people are using. Sounds like a political debate now.

For those that gave me some brands to look at, thanks. :p

I would say any brand of Bios will do just make sure you don't get the ECObbs that they sell at Joes.... oh wait, Joes doesn't exist anymore. Good news from airsofters...

Do BIO bbs effect the fps of the airsoft gun at all or how well it performs.

Dude , Where did these BB's come from?? EARTH?? Thats where I left them.
No really in 250,000 years you'll never know I was here . This is not ment to sound like 'm pissing on your rope , But I really don't think that a BB leaves as big an impact on the earth as it does for everyone driving up to play . If your really GREEN, ride your bike to the next opp. or skirm .
Thats my 2 cents worth .

All BBs degrade over time.

I'm surprised that BiovalBBBMax bb's weren't mentioned. I've read nothing but great things about these bb's. They have been sold only in Europe up to now but I believe that they will be released in the US this June. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone. I'll source airsoftology as one source for this information but I've also spent time looking at the bioval site and reading around. Bioval is also the noly company, as far as I know, that is looking into building dimpled bb's. They, Bioval, really seem to be on top of new bb technology.

Nope, they generally don't effect the FPS of your gun, or how well it performs. They for the most part act the same as regular BB's.

I use the Airsoft Outlet NW .25 Bio BBs, and I've never had a jam in my Dees Custom 6.01mm barrel.

+1.

Team Terror went through 15 bags of these at Steel Talon, no one complained. Didn't have any jams in my Dee's either.

+2
We've run Airsoft Outlet NW .25's Bio and Currently run .28 Bio BB's in our Dees Custom 6.01mm Barrel as well. Never had a Jam, accurate as all get out.

I've been to the EVG airsoft site on DNR land plenty of times and I can tell you that every BB that has been shot there is still there. I have a TSD BIO brand .20 gram BB in a bottle of water sitting on my desk at home that has been there for over a year now and has not degraded at all... So the hype on these products being better for our environment and leaving no trace to me seems like just a gimmick.

I think also that because of the materials used to produce the bio BB's they are not able to put as good a polish on them. Every bio BB that I have examined seems to have a roughness, dullness, or grain to the exterior... something I would rather not put down the inside of a $70 edgi 6.01...

So I just use a madbull 6.03 when I have to use bio...

Beside that, the biggest issue I have seen people encounter with bio BB's is not barrel jams... it's magazines not feeding them because they break inside or just simply don't feed. That and don't wear mesh googles when playing with bio's... unless you like micro shards of bb in yer eyes.

they say bio needs sun, soil and rain to degrade. Sitting in a jar of a water on desk seems out of place for the breakdown process to begin.

put a bunch in a flower bed and then tell us in 6 months to a year

And when he says "they" he means a majority of the Bio BB companies say this on their web sites. They make them this way so that just one element won't degrade them so if you leave them in the sun they won't melt, and if your playing on a rainy day and they get wet they won't leave traces of BB's in your barrel. Bio BB are a good ideal. Especially if you plan on running a field for events over and over again. They WILL degrade with time (if they didn't then the companies would get false advertisement law suites) where as a plastic pellet may finally make it's way to a stream and drift down river and you'll never have to see it again... that doesn't mean it's not somewhere.

at any rate, I would say that the "bio" ammo does not degrade at a rate that is worth them being required certain places. So what if they are made from natural materials but need [pulling this out of the air] 30+ years to degrade, at that speed we might as well all be shooting plastic... it is eventually going to degrade too.

What would be helpful is a Bio ammo that is gone in like 2 weeks? A month? leaving no trace behind, because like I said I'm positive that not a single BB has started to process back into natural elements at EVG. They have been shooting there for over year now and thats alot of bb's on the ground. If I was the DNR I wouldn't be very happy with it anyway.

They already make those, but they crap and barely work in springers.
