well tsunami, you can step up and claim your ownership papers! i know its a slightly used davemayern ( braddock broke his back!) but with a lil reworking you will find a serviceable young man....in about 3 or four years...maybe more! anyway i like the pics...great corolations to real places you have been to outofcountry! i think now all we should do is ask the rangers and local law enforcement how we can best facillatate going about and setting up regular playfields...it will also give the central oregon guys a better image in the public eye if we go this route!

sounds okay...but i would rather hear.." i am contacting local rangerstation for the lost lake area and local law enforcement to arange a good working relationship, so we can have perm usage of desirable areas!" that sounds much better then.." hey i am whipping a lil senario together... dont get me wrong if its a original senario i wanna hear it... i just wanna see you, or maybe somone a lil older ( dont get all hottheaded at that remark, just somone in your area 25+ might be taken more seriously) roger roger

I couldn't agree more. One problem was that we were trying to find private land (less hoops to go through) large enough to accomodate an AP event. This was harder than I originally thought, esspecially with the severe fire danger over here and large groups. Living in Portland has also hindered this progress a lot. Our team is young besides myself and i don't think they are at an age to ask land owners to use land. I say that because people 21 and over have more respect and responsibility in the eyes of the general public. It is still my plan to get both a desert field and a high mountain field hopefully this year, who knows maybe by summer. When I do post a playfield it will be 100% legit and passed with local law enforcment.

Thats part of the plan. at this time, this is simply a working concept.

AND HERE IT IS!

This is so much of a working concept that I hardly took it seriously. I literally wrote this in an hour, with only a little bit of research.

OPERATION: SAFE RETURN

Good Day, soldiers. Over the past few years, Taliban and Al-Qaeda forces have captured a number of civilian and miltary personnell. Until last week, we did not know where they were being held. We now know they are being held in a prison camp, just west of the city of Maymenah, in the Afghanistan province of Faryab. Unfortunately, we have been unable to pinpoint its exact location. Therefore, ground forces will be sent in to locate this camp, eliminate or neutralize all enemy forces, and extract the prisoners to our field Base Camp. They will then be flown to the United States. The camp is heavily guarded by remainders of Taliban guardsmen, and Al-Qaeda has a strong presense in the area. When you extract to the Rally Point, a convoy of trucks will return you to the Base Camp.

Good Luck, Gentlemen.

OPERATION LOADOUT:
ALPHA & BRAVO: US Three Color Desert
DELTA: ACUs
OSCAR: US Woodland

TANGO & QUEBEC: Any Non-US/Desert Pattern. If you have it and it isnt ACUs or Three Color, wear it.

POWs: Civilian clothes, some US Woodland and Desert patterns, but not full sets. two POWs will be wearing MARPAT.

TEAMS:
ALPHA Initial Ground Forces
BRAVO Support
DELTA Special Forces
OSCAR Vehicle Evac - Multiple Trucks/ Vans

OPFOR:
TANGO Initial Ground Forces
QUEBEC - Support. Some Vehicles

\\\\STARTING CONDITIONS////
ALPHA & BRAVO @ Rally Point 1
OSCAR @ Base Camp
DELTA Roaming

TANGO @ Prison Camp
QUEBEC Roaming

\\\\PHASE 1////

ALPHA team is to locate and extract POWs from a hidden prison camp somewhere in the area. TANGO team will secure camp against ALPHA.

VICTORY CONDITIONS:
Status 1: TANGO Neutralizes ALPHA. BRAVO Will now have to extract POWs, and any surviving members of ALPHA.

Status 2: ALPHA Neutralizes TANGO. ALPHA must now extract POWs to Rally Point 1.

Status 3: TANGO Neutralizes ALPHA/ BRAVO. DELTA Must now complete mission objectives.

\\\\PHASE 2////

CHARLIE will be waiting at Rally Point 1. Upon safe return of all remaining POWs and ALPHA / BRAVO, OSCAR will be called in by BRAVO upon arrival of POWs and ALPHA / BRAVO. Ground Superiority must be maintained until arrival of OSCAR. OSCAR Must stay in place at Rally Point 1 until all friendly forces are loaded and secured.

vICTORY CONDITIONS:
Status 1: TANGO/PAPA Eliminates Remaining Members of ALPHA/ BRAVO and/or POWs. Scenario Ends in Failure for ALPHA/ BRAVO.

Status 2: ALPHA/BRAVO Eliminate QUEBEC.
Scenario Ends in Failure for QUEBEC

Status 3: TANGO/QUEBEC Eliminate OSCAR before Evac.
ALPHA/ BRAVO & POWs must now Evac on Foot. SCENARIO CONTINUES TO PHASE 3

Status 4: ALPHA/BRAVO & POWs Extract with OSCAR. QUEBEC Remains.
SCENARIO CONTINUES TO PHASE 3

\\\\PHASE 3//// Dependent on PHASE 2 VICTORY CONDITIONS

Remaining Team & POWs must now extract to Base Camp. If PHASE 2 ends Status 3, They will extract on foot. If PHASE 2 ends Status 4, they will extract via convoy.

VICTORY CONDITIONS:
Status 1: ALPHA/BRAVO & POWs arrive at Base Camp. Scenario Ends in Failure for TANGO/PAPA

Status 2: QUEBEC Eliminate ALPHA/BRAVO and/or POWs. Scenario Ends in Failure for ALPHA/BRAVO.

NOTES:
During PHASE 1, POWs cannot be eliminated, and QUEBEC cannot come into action. After completion of Phase 1, If all POWs are eliminated, the Scenario Ends in failure for ALPHA/BRAVO, even IF they remain.

DELTA Will be in the area. Their mission is to Eliminate QUEBEC before they become a threat. If they should locate the Prison Camp before ALPHA, they may relay its location, and attempt to secure it for ALPHA

BONUS OBJECTIVES: Amongst the POWs is a Marine Brigadier General and his Aide, a Captain. They were captured after a helicopter crashed here two months back. At this time, we have reason to believe that the General is in dire need of medical attention. He will need to be treated in the field, so we're sending a pair of Medic. you might not be able to move him until he is treated (XX MINUTES SCENARIO TIME). He will then need to be carried to the Rally Point on a stretcher. But in order for that to happen, the Medics first have to make it to the Prison Camp. You may attempt to evac the General without medical aid, but you risk his life in doing so. If the General survives the trip, you may attempt to treat him during PHASE 3, if evacuated via OSCAR. (ADMIN will handle if he dies in the scenario by flipping a coin every 5 minutes, upon completion of PHASE 1)

extremely rough draft. tell me what you think folks.

I have more pics up if anyone wants to see them.

So if you really want to get out in the desert there are places by chickahominy reservoir. It is a long ways, about 270 miles from portland. But all that is out there is sage brush and nothing. There is a camp ground at the reservoir and it is great fishing. To make it worth the drive though it would have to be like a three day weekend. I know some land owners out there. I could ask around. If we want to make it really crazy though we could do it in the summer, around July, it averages above 100 and will be really dry and deserty. If we are serious about it, and it is not too far to get a turn out, I will call around.

sheer mountains, kinda. fvcking cold, yes this time of year. desert, potentially. angry terrorists hiding in the hills, not quite, but there are some rednecks who wouldnt appreciate the irony.

yeah, sure, whatever. Plus, we go out China Hat, people can camp out at Lost Lake. I know a few spots up there, its just not terrible convenient to haul my people out for a few hours. Suppose an overnighter could be a good idea...

Me and my father camp down there and ride motorcycles all over the China Hat area, it's great terrain!

As you can see it does look like tsunami's pictures of the Afghani terrain.

The area is beautiful and contains many different types of terrain: thick forest, buttes, caves, cliffs, canyons, wide open areas (as seen in the above post), and much more. The next three pictures were taken on top of a butte or "cinder cone."

Look at the background.

Ya that china hat looks alot like over on the other side of bend and would be closer. I have never been there before but the pics look just like it. I would be game for a summer desert game. I think it would be more fun in the summer just because of the heat. Also I got a spot light and real guns and we could go coyote hunting at night:) If that is still legal. have not lived in Oregon for about 11 years.
