So you don't like paintball boo-hoo, that has little to do with the facilities that are available. But on the double booking "debate"

Peaches wrote:Ummmm, I just checked the dates for both events, IA2 was posted on Feb 15 2009 and yours was posted on Mar 04 2009.

I think Treadhead's event was posted first but then changed weekends, then changed back?

I forget, but there was some big confusion between the two OPs and it's not really anybody's fault on purpose.

It's just a game, go grab some 'nanners and meet me on Chimpburger hill!

Nope, IA2 was posted by Terror on the 15th of Feb, where as WtH was posted by Tread on the 4th of Mar a full two weeks after wards.

Hey, driving a tank is like my goal in life, so even driving an airsoft version of one would be pretty damn awesome.

If driving a tank is your goal in life. Not a bad goal really. Although being in the gunner's seat is much more fun. Why not enlist?

Treadhead wrote:One big difference between airsofters and paintballers is that airsofters use integrity and honor when playing airsoft. While paintballers use markers that were never meant to look like a real replica training weapon, and a majority of the time, paintballers will cheat and wipe off paint or even frequently when the balls do not break, even a ref will not call that player out.

Pardon the pun, but you paint with a wide brush, sir. I didn't realize that paintball players cheated the majority of the time? I guess that's why I always lost when I used to play...oh, wait. I didn't.

I picked up my first marker before many of the regular airsoft players on this forum were born. I used to play several tournament series. I will say this once: "I have never wiped a hit." There.

Airsoft is a new thing to me--4 months or so. Already, I've heard "that kid doesn't call his hits" more often than I care to. Or, when it's commented on, "Yeah, it happens."

I'm so glad to see stereotypes and prejudice alive and well still. Makes me feel good about human nature....

Don't even try to draw a parallel between airsoft and paintball, the two are night and day and paintball will never even be looked upon as anything more than a bunch of college kids freezing their paintballs and shooting the elderly while videotaping the whole time. Woodsball is a pathetic attempt at simulated combat so please don't insult the airsoft community.

It's beyond me how you can really think that. I could be wrong, but it is far, far, FAR easier to "wipe" in airsoft considering the hole "hit" aspect is based on an honor system. More times than not, people honor their hit, but there still are those douchesticks in airsoft that are still going to get lit up, and keep returning fire.

::Incoming sarcasm:: and you are definitely right, airsoft is the most realistic form of combat. Considering airsoft has an engagement range of around 50 feet, 75 to 90% of the community uses mid-to hicaps (60 to 450 rounds per magazine) and airsoft bbs behave in no way like their real world counterpart.

And the college kids freezing paintballs quip was a mega face-palm for me. Which has the potential to be more dangerous...... toy guns that look funky and goofy, and that are easily recognizable as paintball guns, or something that, as you said, looked like a real steel? I like airsoft, and I like paintball, and they are more late evening and early nighttime than night and day. You're like a high-school football player calling out high-school rugby players.
