I'd love to buy some photos. . . well not really because they would some other team and not ours. I also emailed Ben if there were any photos of us and got no response. I asked on this forum and got no response. I am going to assume with all the silence and lack of photographs that there are indeed no photos of us. :(

But it would be nice if someone would answer definatively as there seems to be some question if all the photos are up.

Your assumption is correct my dear sir. You must understand, the silence you have experience is an, "Oh SHIT, I don't think I have photos of Battlesim" silence.
Either Battlesim wasn't "badass" enough to catch my attention or I miss you completely and assumed that DRAT, was next because the schedule was no where to be found (or that is hidden within this forum). And I don't care to search 35+ pages to find it.
I know they're isn't any from day 1 because I went to take photos of THIS.
I guess, next time battlesim plays, I will get more photos then you care to scroll through and make your 1337Mbps Fois connection to drop.

BTW, I never received an e-mail from you.

Fred posted 268 airsoft photos from that weekend, if I remember correctly. I'd be willing to bet that he actually has far more than that, but those are the 268 that turned out well enough for publication. And they're not the neat little .jpg files that you get out of the point-and-click camera you bought at Fred Meyers for $100.

Now, knowing Fred as I do, I know that he's really a nice guy. He's actually one of my favourite people. Now, he also said he was at the roller derby during day one - 202 photos there.

So, we have people PMing and Emailing fred asking "wheres the photos fred? wheres the photos", and having watched him sort out photos, I understand its a time-intensive project. Now, assuming that he posted every photo he took, instead of just the ones that are suitable for publication, you're talking about 470 photos that he has to work his magic on so that it is of an appropriate size and format for Joe-Average's comptuer to view. And I'm sure one of you heroes is going to make some kind of smart-assed remark about how your favourite photographer can a billion photos overnight and takes better photos than Fred . . . . . whatever man. Whatever. Fred works with what he has. He can't exactly just go out and buy a supercomputer to do all the work for him in half a heartbeat on the money he brings in - but I'm sure that he'd be happy to accept donations (or sales of the photos he has for sale) so that he can improve his equipment so he can sort out photos more rapidly, and get them hosted and posted more quickly.

If he took time out to respond to each and every person that he received an email or PM from . . . . well . . . it takes time kids. It takes time.

Not to mention that PM's and Emails are not without their own problems. I've PM'ed Lettucehead a couple times and he never recieved it - I know I've sent PM's, and when I check the sent and out box, they're not there.

Now keep in mind that he actually has a life and other things to do. *boggles* I know, surprising, eh? His girlfriend, who is just sweet as can be, might want to spend a little bit of time with him. I know that I'll get shit from some of you heroes around here, but I'm a bit older than a lot of you and I learned long ago "if the girl isn't happy, ain't nobody happy".

So . . . . . before thinking that Fred's just being rude think for a minute. He takes the best photos in the community and he does it for a pittance. If you think you can do it better . . . . well . . . . why not give it a try? You might be surprised to find that it's not as easy as just pointing your camera and clicking.

Give the guy a break.

+1 i agree alex....

except on one point.

when Bill PM's saying hey, "where are MY pictures fred." there sould be a immediate responce. yea fred pushed the buttons on the camera, but lets face it... he would not have had the opportunity to do so without Bills consent. he was at the challenge under a agreement. he is not there as some frelancer. all the BSP media is propriotary.

is fred a great guy....yea
does he take good pics....yea
am i a jackass....yea

who gives a flying shazaam.

point is....

where the fu.ck are the pics fred.
I am not half as good as I want to be, but I am twice as good as you think I am.

That issue was resolved already guys. In fact the question of "where are the images for the BSP site?" came after the images had been posted on his media site for nearly a week.

I believe that giving the guy a break really wasn't the issue. I wasn't busting his chops. That media provided a lot of traffic for his site, because the were posted there first, by a week. So, it isn't about "hey Fred, where's the pics", it was "Hey Ben, can I grab those images for our site."

It is a resolved issue, a few days prior to you guys even posting this stuff.

Morgan, quit being an a$$. I'm not surprised, but still. Fred didn't sign any agreement with Black Sierra. I think it's perfectly reasonable for any photographer shooting an event for FREE to post their photos up on their own website for their own publicity. In fact, that's the biggest way Fred can actually benefit from donating his time.

As far as I know, Fred had tried to get ahold of Bill about the details on how to upload his photos to the Black Sierra website immediately after the event, but he didn't hear back. I am not surprised, considering emails I have sent to BlackSierra email accounts have bounced recently. The other photographers who volunteered haven't even posted anything yet, and one of them left in the middle of the day without even telling anybody. Yet nobody is complaining to about them.

Everyone on the media team was working for free, and volunteering our time to help out just like the actors were.

So, in short... lick my balls, you ingrate.
