And this is why Germany gave their stormtroopers meth! Moral of the story? Meth wins wars! (for about 3 years)

And that is the most random and useless post of this whole freaking thread.
"5 color Woodland....it's the new thing."

Ok.... Nobody on the media crew is complaining about getting shot. The teams are complaining about being docked points for shooting the media crew.

I got shot plenty of times, I could care less.

LOL.... I can say I held my trigger squeeze on day 2... I am yelling at this guy to raise his hands up...nothing.... in a little louder voice, get your hand in the air... then he points to his orange sash... Awww crap... but on the flip side, he was wearing a shemage that covered most of the orange on his chest.

If you're going to go to war against a major enemy, go; knock the hell out of him fast, and go in there to kill him and get it over with.

Ok I will step in on this one.

I was shot several times. I am a player and a film maker. I can take a hit while shooting footage because I am both. I never once complained about getting hit because when I did none of the shots hurt. I was wearing a full orange vest and had a big camera mounted on my shoulder. I am also 6'7". If you cannot look at me, figure out in your little mind that I am not a threat and move on to another target, then you are pathetic and need to train more.

Every team that shot me did not place. Think about it.

I was part of the media team and I'm not complaining about getting shot.
In fact I was only shot once the entire weekend and that shot wasn't incidental.
The operator turned, aquired and fired a 3 round burst square into my chest.
Again, I'm not complaining about being shot.

To my knowledge, the grading criteria did not take into account media casualties.

Sooooo, if the media team isn't complaining and it didn't affect the team scores then what the hell are we discussing the issue for.

It's a double edged sword. As competitors you could complain that the media teams presence is unrealistic and creates issues with target identification.
To this I answer;
1) It creates the same headaches for ALL teams. So it's a moot point as far as scoring would be concerned. (Develop positive target identification skills.)
2) You may hate our presence at the events but you love the post event media.

I think you will all agree that having us "swarm" around you will have been worthwhile once you see the video. We really got better coverage than has been seen before.
This means more entertaining footage and it may actually be useful as a learning tool for your team.

Ok... so teams killed all the people with weapons right? NO! We didn't, we identified the target, deamed them a threat or not, and then used lethal force.

This thread has gotten off on the concept of media being shot. This may happen, especially if you have a camera person trying to get a 'good shot', but it is the lone camera guy who gets lit up that I am talking about.

They shouldn't have to wear orange in order for them not to be shot... we should be able to identify the differance between a video camera and an MP5.

As to the argument about not all of us being soldiers....you are right, but wasn't this called a 'Challange', and wasn't the idea to make it realistic? You want realism, or a FPS where the game doesn't let you kill the informant or your team mates? Cause if you want the latter.... I hear that Call of Duty 4 is a good game.

This is the problem I had, but instead of the shemage it was a fir tree. Chapped you were the most visible of the camera men. It could of been because of you height, but you didn't obscure your vest and you were out of place in the OPFOR. Same wit Matt.. It is a learning lesson for us all... Don't shoot CNN..

You are totally correct.. It was "Challenge", a total learning lesson on all parts.. No matter if we successful or not I think all teams have walked away with knowledge..

Hoping that this will get the ball rolling. :p

I'm the only camera man with a photo up? haha  I win for first BSP challenge photo posted :D

I shot that pic after the LE scenario when I was driving my jeep back after being the UC. I wish I would have had a better camera because as you guys all started walking away all I could see was the big WAR patches on 7 of you guys in a line. It looked like the end scene of a movie. 8)

To bad all I had was my shitty cell phone camera

It could NOT have been as bad as the Titan One Missle Base! You were getting tagged at that event. ;)

Yeah.

Let's have her point something large and black at us immediately after getting "hit" by a rocket, too. ;)
