what: trench wars.

when: sun feb 22. meeting at starbucks on gateway street at 1000 am, and at lower field at 1030. the folks heading over from starbucks might be a little late. we are leaving right at 10am from starbucks, so plz show up at least 10 minutes early.

where: lower mcgowen field. eugeneish, oregon.


objective: none.


Setting up a game at lower mcgowen field. Basic premise will be force on force, trench to trench. boundaries will not be specified, but please stay within reason to the fighting. Will start with half at one spawn point, and half at the other. spawn points will be made clear before the game. There will be no admins, and not alot of rules. If you see your team is pummeling the other team, switch teams, or trade off with another person. There will be no winners or losers here, just looking for a sustained fight. There will be no objectives, and no points of any kind. You can join or leave at any point, just head to one of the teams spawn points. As far as respawns go, they are unlimited, and you can spawn for either side. hits are completely on an honor system, as are team balance.


fps: 400fps with .2s for aegs/gas rifles/anything not bolt action.
bolts:550fps with .2s.

fps will be on an honor system. if people feel unsafe with your gun in the game you may be asked to switch.

I am hoping that everyone has fun with this, its meant to be a different option out there. All players will be welcome, no matter your experience. Also not looking to replace any event or displace any group of people, so if this is scheduled on the same day as one of your events, please feel free to pm me and if there is time i will move it.

please no fire arms or bladed weaponry on the field. Also bring any water/food you will need throughout this event.

it is a skirmish with no point. just for once a month forget the tactics, forget the winning, and go out and shoot people, and get shot. at some point we all want to snap, and just go nuts.

Sounds like a good time.

But when you say no blades on the field does that mean I shouldn't bring my leatherman? I've made a habit of bringing it, and end up using it every other game. :/

if its a tool, thats fine, but we had some new comers today bring a machete, and another knife, and i want to discourage that. if your worried about survival bring a radio with a full battery. i will have one, and one will be located at each spawn point for announcements, and trade offers and general s***t talking.

Just talked to the sheriffs office, one thing i have to mention, yes a new rule. no cussing on the radios, it is a punishable crime. So be respectful and keep your cool. This time of year camping/fire permits are not allowed in that area, so there will not be a bbq after this one. Hopefully in the summer they will open them back up and I will provide the bbq and what food i can afford that month.

Question: How will we be identifying teams, with arm tape? That's the only way I can think of allowing people to switch sides without massive confusion.
