Period style uniforms will be required. Allied or Axis units other then US or German are allowed and have the same restrictions on gear and weapons. We want as many people in period gear as possible but using US OD and East German uniforms that are WWII like are fine. We don't want to see peopel showing up looking like 80-00's US woodland, Euro flectarn, etc. For instance, you use flectarn with WWII style gear, (i.e. Jack boots, WWII helmet, etc) that's okay. Dressing completely like a Viet Nam kit would be okay as long as you have something like gaiters instead of jungle boots and you make sure your not wearing post WWII patches and you are not using any camo not used by US in Europe in 1944.

If you don't know if your kit will work, take a picture and send it to me and I can give you a go/no go on it.

shit. i guess i'll have to educate your sorry asses on the history of the ak.

no, they didnt. the only things the ak and the mp44 share in common it the fact that they are both gas operated and they look kinda the same. in an interview with Mikhail Kalashnikov, he said that the ak and the mp44 shared nothing in common mechanicly. it [ak47] was in no way based on the mp44.

Kendodude";p="22947 wrote:The original AK-47 was created and developed AFTER WWII. SO BLEH! IT"S OFF BY a year or two!

Oh yeah, isn't the Tokyo Marui AK-47 based off the old original Russian model or something (I heard about this at a game once)

hey, smart a$$, read this:
The official story of the AK says that the sergeant Mikhail Kalashnikov, being in hospital after the wound, began to develop various small arms during the World War 2. Circa 1944 he was assigned to the Izhevsk Machinebuilding Plant (IZHMASH), where in 1944 he developed a semi-automatic, gas-operated carbine. Starting with this design, during 1945 and 1946 he developed an assault rifle that he submitted for official Soviet Army trials in 1946. During the 1946 and early 1947 he redesigned his initial rifle and submitted it to the second trials, held in 1947. The latter design was found superior to the rivals and was consequently adopted in 1949 as the "7,62mm Automat Kalashnikova, obraztsa 1947 goda" (7.62mm Kalashnikov automatic rifle, model of 1947). After extensive field trials it was slightly modified in 1951, but retained the same name. Along with the basic version, a folding butt version had been developed for paratroop forces, and it was named AKS.

so, th eak WAS being developed during WWII

the original ak had a stamped recever, but due to bad rumors of the recevers falling apart, IZHMASH decided to make them with a milled recever (hence the TM model we all know and love). later on, due to cost restrictions they decided to swich back to the stamped recever, and change a few things, hence the akm, which is the gun that you see on the nightly news in the hands of "holly warriors".
i got that from "tales of the gun: the ak47" on the history channel.

alright so you are the most elite information elite super duper person ever, you can copy and paste all you want and call me names but how far is the difference from the year of the make? Stop the hate, I ain't got beef with you, no need to call me a smart a$$ if i'm off by like a year.

I was jus saying it's not so bad to use AK's since they somewhat have something similar in design to the MP44 and were around the same time. If I'm off by a year then just say "Actually you're wrong Kendo, they were developed in 1945 then were used blah blah blah". I don't know so insanely much about these weapons, and I could care less. It's not even a gun talk in the first place, it was just for it being okay to be used at the game.

edit: I don't mean to sound arrogant if that's how it sounds like btw

Being developed and being deployed are slightly different, considering one means drawings on paper and the other means a weapon in hand. If you want to get really nit picky does it even matter if it started development in 1945 considering there were slightly over 4 months of that year that european fighting was going on?

During the 1946 and early 1947 he redesigned his initial rifle and submitted it to the second trials, held in 1947

The Ak-47 was a redesigned version of his 45-46 work anyway, it's a different POSTWAR rifle.

For anyone interested in a hotel room, we found a hotel in Everet for $47 a night. We have 3 rooms reserved there. We are currently only using 2 if anyone is interested. We are going to hold a regular skirmish on Saturday from 11am - 3pm if you want to come up Saturday. The Saturday stuff is free and a great way to check out the field before Sunday's big game.
