i see alot of people in this thread who are capable of cutting or being cut in a knife fight. i dont see anyone here who understands the responsibility of the concequence of what it means to harm, injure or kill another human being in this manner.

unless you have stabbed someone, or been stabbed by someone in a fight for your life, the validity of your statments is quite thin.

this is comming from someone who has:

been stabbed
works with a knife for a living on a daily basis for 10+ years.

this thread was funny to read.

edit: microtech now has someone in china pumping out a clone of the popular "scarab" auto. just got mine today and i WILL post a review.

so for those of you who could not afford the microtech prices....china has your answer. i got mine super cheap....MSRP is $80 ( i got mine for $40 tee to the hee hee hee!)

ditto to mobius.

however, my parents lived in california when i was born, my mom never carried a weapon, and all that my dad carried was a pocket knife for utility so i find your excuse a little lacking.

It wouldn't bother me. Most people probably do carry them. But as long as nobody is going to attempt to cut someone with it, I think it is okay.

Th0r, you'd be better off just carrying a pocket type knife. It can still be used for defense. And if/when you get stopped by the police, something like that won't attract the same attention as a fighting or illegal knife will.

Besides, you are not in California anymore.

It is up to the event planners and arena managers to determine if personal weapons such as knives are allowed at their site, so I would advise asking prior to taking one onto the field with you.

I have no problem with live blades being allowed on the field as long as a few rules are followed. If the blade meets legal restrictions and the person carrying it is of legal age and authorized to carry the blade, that's one good rule. Carrying a knife that is properly secured and will have no chance of causing injury to the person carrying it or others, especially while crawling through foilage, and that's ok. Ensuring the knife does not retain the appearance of a replica, in that it can't accidentally be used in place of a replica, that's ok. As long as you follow simple rules and common sense, it shouldn't be a problem.

In regards to carrying any form of illegal weapons, to do so at an airsoft event will not only cause you to be permanently banned from these forums and any future AP-sponsored events, it will also very likely lead to your being removed from the field in handcuffs. Don't forget that it is well within the legal rights of other players to detain you until law enforcement arrives if they do catch you carrying such weapons, so don't think you're safe just because "the law ain't around".

I was born in the Los Angeles area and have lived there off and on for many years as well as worked there throughout my adult life. I have been in bad places, and have never had any excuse to carry an illegal weapon. That excuse is invalid, and for carrying illegal weapons there simply is no excuse. Keep such facts to yourself, and if you don't like wearing orange jumpsuits, I highly recommend you refrain from doing so at any AP event.

ditto.

if you live in the albany i live in, there is extremely little to absolutely no need for a weapon of any sort.

albany isnt exactly known for having a bunch of crazy a$$ gangsta's who'll "cut you" at a moments notice.

I myself carry a couple of different knives while airsofting and hiking both. The only time i have actually ever thought of using a knife was when at a game a cougar walked by not twenty feet away. He could of put some major smack down on me. Talk about scaring the crap out of me. But at that field i carry a 8 inch survival knife. Other wise i carry a gerber hunting knife. I live in medford and their are places that you dont walk thru unless you have a black sweat shirt and are not wearing any red or blue.
