D-Day Reinactment

Postby MachineManMike » Mon May 26, 2008 4:41 pm

My friend wanted to have a D-day reinactment but it is not a serious Mil sim. Axis defends while Allies Rush. However when I mean nonserious I mean it. Basically you can use any gun you want and really dont have to wear anything particular. We probbably just get red armbands and blue armbands to tell which team is which. Anyways the host is having his friends act as staff so they get in for free however there will be a small fee for everyone else.
But first heres the details.

The host reccomends cash
But checks are okay as long as they are made out to Doug Linn.
Hand it in as you arrive.

What makes this worth $25?

You basically said jack squat about your event.

How in the hell can it be a reenactment if you have no guidelines on what you have to wear or use?

That is a skirmish with two teams. Nothing special. If it was a good reenactment (by the definition - with gear regulations, hell.. I might even come (seeing as I have some old uniform hanging in my closet collecting dust..)

However, this seems more like a skirmish.

Good Day.

This is apparently bull's shit. For a big shoot-em-up, I wouldn't go. I'd go to one of those more interesting training sessions or something.

It would be fun for an airsoft game, wouldn't it? Just need lots of cardboard, tape, and a vehicle to put it on.

I think we can probably scrape up a go cart to build it off of, we can reinforce it with duct tape

Here's another pic, this is from an airsoft reenactment in Japan:

I think they rigged up the cardboard structure over a Kubelwagen type kit car (or maybe even over a VW "Thing"). Kinda small. Now if this was rigged over a full size pick-up truck - yee haa!!

Think I'll move this over to the Mil Sim Vehicles section. If they could do this, then why can't we?

It would mean some exceptions to safety rules, such as Thou Shalt Not Shoot At or Shoot From A Moving Vehicle... :(
