I heard that call over the command net. The verbage used was "Severly sprained or broken ankle" and I watched 2 EMTs go off in the location given for the injury.
Please buy your gear from Rick Fisher; perhaps he can buy a Life.

I made the call, I thought I said for no cease fire to be called, maybe I didn't, my apologies for being worried about someone who got their leg pinned in between two logs, instead of calling it in 100% right.

Was that on the Warsaw channel or the Admin channel? Because I evaluated the person on site, and determined that it most likely was not broken (I don't carry an x-ray machine around with me). I'm not sure what was said on the channel because I was evaluating the guy, but I do know he said we don't need a cease fire. But the medics never showed. Maybe they went to the Warsaw base, maybe they found someone else, i don't know. But we did say we did not need a cease fire.

Thanks for coming out to the game guys. I was extremely pleased with how it turned out.

Our goals for this game was two fold;

1. Eliminate hacking

2. Spread the field and reduce camping.

Most of the things we added to the game were done with those goals in mind. The next one will incorporate some new things, but mostly we'll just tweak some of the problems from this game and make sure it runs smoother. We appreciate your feedback because this will be an ongoing thing and we need good intel on ways to improve it.

Again, thanks guys for coming out and we will be announcing Op: IC2 in the next few days.

The rulebook and pre-event brief will be better established for the next round.

Our aim is for 150-250 people, + or -. We got that, and will continue to strive for that number. The -field can support more people which is a plus, this will allow for more all round battle than 2 or 3 focused battles....ie, less a$$ time if you are guarding. The one thing we don't want is a single clustered brawl....which has been the staple of SA events in the past. We want a wide ranging battle that spans the field and allows for troop movement on an individual, squad, or platoon level.

The one thing Im really proud of is that the event started ON TIME, which is vital to us. Nothing worse than a 10am kick off, that actually starts at 11pm...and then a lunch at 1pm...and gameplay starts again at 2pm....you know the drill.

We will have suggested items for kits in the next handbook, like X amount of water, food rations for the day of etc. We want the playing experience to be based on what you put into it as a player. You want to be a hard charger? Then you can do that, you want to defend a position....you can do that too.

Sustains:

-Admin Numbers: Hack free
-Event starts on time
-The Lay of the field, kept balance all day.
-Artillery

Improves:

-Clearly Defined play areas and bridge crossing rules (we are going to alter these some to make bridges important)
-Better Commo with team leaders
-Better Maps
-Better prepared mission profiles, and more of them.

No-Gos:

-Structure Failures need to be addressed
-Hit calling for other team
-Altering a gameplay rule during the event.

I believe everyone did a good job being a great sport. The game played nearly exactly the way we envisioned it would. I don't mind the respawn situation...because it creates balance. Rolling respawns and medic locations create issues, and they are just not in the cards for this series at this point.

We will introduce more combat roles and define each as time goes on. This event will become a staple BSP event. Multiple roles, multiple missions, and gameplay rules will improve the event each time...and as the players understand all the game play logistics, it makes for a better experience.

Field Changes.....More must happen, but quite a bit was done.
Better Command and Control with player comms....this'll allow the commanders to vector artillery on positions.

Thank BSP, this was my first OP and I had a blast. I didn't mind the hike up to Nato respawn, it was good incentive not to get hit. I did like the fact that there were multiple objective points spread out along the line so the chance for an assault on a particular area could be more successful.

I didnt mind the run down the hill and across the river to the WARSAW spawn point. I didnt mind the run back up the hill and back into the fight. And yes, i got it confirmed, i was doing it on a broken foot.

Things i liked - "The river down there, thats the rhine. You have to hold a bridge in order to cross it"
Things I didnt like "Oh, the bridges dont matter anymore, you can cross anywhere, anytime"

I didnt see many changes to the field. I am VERY disapointed by that. Raking up the underbrush does not qualify as improving the field. I am far from surprised that it took this long for a structure to collapse. Actually, I half-wish I had been in that structure when it collapsed. I'm an asshole - I'd probably be sueing splat action silly. That waiver of theirs - its worth whatever the printing cost is, when faced by an asshole with a lawyer. *shrugs* Hopefully the collapsing structure prompts them to fix their shit - but I'll be surprised if they do anything. They're begging to spend time in court.

There was so little bullshit going on that day. The field looked great. I have nothing but good things to say about this game, though sleeping in the car was cold as all hell.

I also apologize to whoever i shot in the face by NATO Comm tower.

That was the best game I've been to in some time.
I saw some minor improvements which was exactly what I was expecting,
but after the incident involving the buildings floor collapsing I definitely think they should fix up all of the buildings.
I'll definitely be at the next one but I'm sure you already know that.

I gotta tell you all that I am sore as hell today - and I had a fuggin BLAST at IC!

I've only been to Splat Action twice, the other time was Grid18 and both times it was awesome compared to the playing areas we have around here.
It was great being able to walk around and talk to everyone and meet the folks that I hadn't met before along with meeting folks I hadn't seen in a while. :D

The gameplay at IC was awesome, the lack of hacking and the Admin coverage was excellent, although I do echo the call for a dedicated tally admin for the respawn area - it was often hard to find him when he was covering the bridges and the large area near the Warsaw CP.
Also the safety netting was difficult to shoot through when some folks were using buildings with 'bullet proof windows' - setting their guns underneath the netting and shooting from the window, while not being able to be touched from incoming fire.
Also, the mix-up on land usage for out-of-bounds was sketchy, which cleared areas were in or out and who could go where. I got lit up in the deadpool a couple times when we were being assaulted from behind our CP and we were trying to respawn.
Those were my biggest gripes from the entire game and I only give these as constructive criticisms.

Game idea - Excellent
I LOVE the idea of dedicated respawns, I dont give a crap if I have to walk all that way if it gives me down time to get my wind, drink water from my pack, munch a power bar etc.
I also enjoyed the use of artillery and blanks on the field - there was no mistake as to when an artillery strike was made and where. It also added to the immersion for me.
The missions handed out by our CO kept things from getting bogged and stale, it kept folks moving and gave them purpose rather than wandering or wondering what comes next.
I can't afford to head that way for every one of these in the series, but you can definitely count me in for every other one of them!

The building problems can be cured pretty easily if Splat Action folks were to go to a mill or a manufacturing facility with a trailer and ask if they got rid of 8' pallets used for trim or lathe. Our plant kicks about 30 of these out a night, throwing them away. Each of these has 3 rough cut 2x4's 8 feet long on them and it would cut the facilities improvement costs greatly. Lowered costs would give incentive towards building improvements - I know materials cost and bringing in money is better than putting it out. Just an idea.

My best shot of the day was in the beginning of the game at the Warsaw Ammo Dump, firing at a guy in the opposite village who had taken cover in one of the buildings. We slugged it out from cover back and forth but he stepped by one of the holes in the buildings and I shot him from about 80 feet through it to take him out.
I had to whoop it a little there since I knew my luck wouldn't be that good the rest of the day.
And it wasn't lol.

This was my first "shooting" game in a long long time... Thx guys, I had a good time.

The best part for me was assaulting HH and holding it for a bit. It reminded me of old times, hitting hard and kicking a$$, with I, Rico, and Raddue holding off the bad guys until help arrived... still got whacked but it was the "classic" assault against a dug in enemy where good ol' hard charging did the trick.

I will be attending more of these.

As an admin of large scale games here are my suggestions:
Get printed materials out to the people as soon as possible with all the details.
Divide the game into at least two pieces. You dont have to have a lunch, but a defined short break of some kind would be ok. Maybe an "on the field break". (maybe cuz I'm old...)

Ideas to add...
field intel availble from the admins. I would like to have had a "flow" of game intel coming down from command which kept me informed of the battle. Status of missions, general locations of the enemy etc. Basically a running "news channel" that I could turn to on my radio, giving constant updates to the battle. That would be nice...

cyoo at the next one...
