CQC Training Day

Postby Eyes On » Sun Oct 23, 2005 1:12 pm

Who: All ages who are eligible to play at the Scappoose field. EVERYONE attending this course MUST have a signed AP Waiver AND a signed CLASS WAIVER. If you are under 18, these need to be signed by a parent or legal guardian, and must include a contact phone number.

No waiver, no course, no exceptions.

What: Introduction to CQC Course

Where: Scappoose Field

When: Saturday, November 12th, 10am – 3ish

The Basics:
Gear: Bring your loadout. THIS WILL NOT BE A LIVE FIRE EVENT. Bring lunch, drinks, a trash bag, and a folding chair, a notebook, and something to write with.

Topics:

Introductory Theory
Basic Stack Procedures
Basic Commo
Mission Planning

Class structure: Anticipate 90 minutes to 2 hours of lecture and Q&A, followed by 2-3 hours of practical application.

Cost: None

Courtesy:
Keep the field clean, haul your trash out with you. This event is held as a courtesy, and we will take good care of our gracious hosts property.

We have a finite amount of time. Please be on site on time. Be ready to start class at 10am sharp.

We have a finite amount of time. If you are NOT participating in the CQC event on the 19th & 20th, you are (regrettably) low on my priority list. I have to give priority to the people who will actually be playing. You may attend, you may participate, but please keep interruptions to a minimum.

FINALY: I have my own squad to worry about. My intent is for you to leave with a generic entry plan, commo plan, and strong idea of how CQC works. You will need to get together on your own as teams to get your respective acts together.

I can't stress enough how important this training will be for those of you who will be experiencing your first CQC event.

You have no idea how much even a little bit of training will help you in most situations...

I'm trying to get our residen Jedi Master out to teach the course. There is a severe liability issue for him, and I'm not sure we can overcome it. Anyway, I will be teaching a basic template called The Distilled Standard Entry. It's a very simple technique that anyone can learn in an hour. I'll also be going over basic comms, and essential theory. This will be followed by a lot of practical application. I have the whole day, so if you guys want to dump the practice buildings until dark (or until out hosts decide to kick us out), be my guest.

I will stay to learn as much as possible. I'll be sure to bring a big lunch or two.

My son and I are new to airsoft and may be able to make it to the CQC training. What are the directions to the Scappoose Field?

Most of the time people meet at the Scappoose Fred Meyer on US Hwy 30 before going to the field. It's across the highway from the "big red round thing with the 'flame' light on top"

Or, dig around in the search function here on AP.com. Someone posted really detailed directions not too long ago.

That's the Peace Candle or some such.

I find it ironic we gear up for war and wait for our escort across the street from it.

Will the class waiver be issued at the class or is there a link to a PDF file?

I have had several questions about this.

Don't sweat the second waiver. Just bring a signed AP waiver. If we have a waiver on file already for you, then you do not need to bring another one.
