I was signed up individually on the earlier list, so i guess there are 10 of DRAT going, including me. also please add Sam "Slyone", Kyle "BT", and Terry "Sonny" to the DRAT roster.

So, not to sound like im nagging but,
Mithril Signed up for 6
Tombstone,
The Duke
Mobius
Tank
Clips
+guest

We are still listed as 4 including Bishop, who is running with us, but is not a member of Mithril at the time of the posting.
Also, we are no longer a Detachment, we are our own force. Much like that of the PAC.

It has been brought to my attention as to "what happens if people hack?" at a BSP event.

-1: Expulsion....IMMEDIATELY.
-2: Banned.......PERMANENTLY.

We roll a one-strike and you are out program. There is no room for cheating in airsoft. I've been seeing a lot more of it at the skirmishes I've been to lately.....it won't be tolerated...not even a little bit at BSP events. Shitbags are removed and no longer allowed to attend our events. It is pretty cut and dried.

Things that will get you kicked the hell out:

-Not calling hits
-Ranting and raving, pissing and moaning, and being an a$$.
-Not deferring to an admin ruling
-Fighting, physical or otherwise
-Unsafe play
-Not following the rules set forth in the event: Boundaries, Rules, Respawn Rules, etc.

A HIT IS: (AND YOU BETTER RECOGNIZE)

ANY IMPACT ON YOUR BODY OR GEAR. A HIT IS A HIT....PERIOD. Go back and respawn.

Last thing:

Whether I've known you for ten years or ten minutes, cheating will NOT be tolerated. We can't afford to have any hackfestic trash. We've seen what hacking shitbags go to good events by cheating. We all know the rules, so if you choose to not follow them, you'll be packing up early and going home and asked not to return....ever.

:]

I hope you guys can understand

PS:

IF YOU ARE NOT ON THE LIST, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE EVENT.

Just for clarification or for people who don't know.

Are do Gun hits count as a hit on gear or no?

and for newbie computer geeks, can we get the Airsoft definition of "hacking?". I am a programmer, but I doubt you guys are talking about software/network hacking:-)

I feel that a gun hit SHOULD be a hit.

What do you guys think?

I read that on the east coast, they require that if you take a gun hit, you have to switch to your secondary or sidearm.
I know thats just one more thing to remember, but I figured it could add a little fun into the mix.
otherwise i would say, yea, a gun hit is a hit.

I know that no one is going to believe it, but I don't have an opinion either way about it.

one side: Sometimes your gear gets hit and you don't feel it, and it's not always audible depending on surrounding noises. Should we add in another component that might not get felt or heard, and have to deal with people freaking the hell out because he say soandso's gun get hit? It's never been the rule in the past, so why change it?

the other side: If you do know your gun was hit, it's simpler to just be out instead of hiding behind your AEG or trying to determine whether "that guy" is saying all 10 rounds you landed on him were on his gun. A rifle wouldn't likely work after getting shot in the real world, and it may still inflict a fatal wound (or at least render the person combat-ineffective). Perhaps that player should just be dead for simplicity's sake. This is mil-sim, after all.

/shrug

edit: I do like the concept of the switch-to-your-sidearm thing, but sadly, I think it's too complicated for most folks to understand. At what point is your rifle back in play? Would your rifle have to make it back to respawn (if that's the case, you might as well just be dead)? Would the player be expected to keep an honest account of a time limit on their primary being down? Most people can't get players to stay dead in place when hit for an actual 5 minutes - you'll see people getting up and wandering back after 2-3 minutes, if they don't just mope to the respawn immediately. I like the concept, I'm curious how to apply it so that game mechanic doesn't get hacked after the first 20 minutes of play.

True, it does seem like it would be difficult to work it out, at least in time for this OP.
The way I took it was, if your primary was hit, it was out as long as you were still alive. When you respawned, you respawned as fresh meat, new rifle and everything. Im sure not everybody carries a secondary or a sidearm like the OP i was reading about though, they were quite mil-sim.
