I will try to move the respawns into areas that aren't easily accessible or "in the way," but I don't want to make one team hike up huge hills just to respawn, or have overly-defensible positions for flags to be located. Sometimes, you're just going to run into the other team's respawn when moving your squad around.

I will experiment with the 3-way CTF and other move-the-flag-somewhere-else style games at Scappoose, as well as some sector control/objective variants I've been bouncing around in my head. You will be seeing many more skirmishes from me in the future.

Nocte one of the things you may want to fix in the future was respawns and flags in regards to boundaries. The yellow and red flags were relatively close to the boundaries copmletely eliminating any deap flanking action, whereas, as bill and his buddies found out, the blue flag was not up against any boundary and you could go way the heck around and come up from behind which made it much harder to guard.

Oh and red team, of course no one got it. No one even saw your whole team the whole day cause you were all *cough*camping*cough*, escuse me, defending :p

actually, there were four or five guys defending it. the rest of us were way the heck behind blue team trying to get the yellow flag. we did manage to get it, but then the ten guys in the deadpool decided to respawn.

What boundaries? I never set any boundaries. If someone wanted to assault up cannon hill or into the village to get to a better spot, they were welcome to do so. Any perceived boundaries were assumed from the last skirmish that had them in place.

I will be sure to announce any boundaries, if any, at the next skirm, though.

We had 3-6 people protecting flag, 90% of the time.

Had yellow and Blue been smarter, they could have easily overrun us. ;)

my only complaint is that the respawns and flags could have been spread out better on the field.

more distance between each.

Thanks for clearing that up Nocte, there was some diffence of opinion between me and the yellow guys. We did not hear anything about boundries during the brief but they were certain we could not have sneaked up on them that close unless we went out of bounds. And to the yellow guy who walked between the yellow spawn point and the road to take a piss... you owe me one for not shooting you in the tool. It was tempting but a naked tool shot at 15 feet isn't something anyone wants.

And Nocte...you host the games and TT will show up!

I'm often the loud-mouth in charge. My orders get people killed. Thats the shitty thing about being a loud-mouth in charge. Someone's going to end up being pissed off because you barked at them to put their a$$ in gear and get into the fight.

i wasn't at this event, and I've never been under Vamps command. I do, however, know that when a unit gets decimated, its because the commander was inept, and when a unit scores big - its because the troops were brilliant.

How many people died needlessly because I was throwing troops around trying to absorb the gunfire from Blue Platoon, and Red Platoon this past weekend at Silents skirmish? How many of those people came away thinking I'm the biggest jackass ever? shazaam it. We held on to the blue flag for a long damn time - and we did with the 'blood' of the Yellow team. We bought and paid for that flag. I'm proud to say that I rolled with Yellow Team.

Vamps orders got people killed. My orders get people killed. Welcome to Airsoft. Some body has to die, and you really didn't want to live forever anyways.

EDIT: Altair's post disappeared before mine was posted. :-p

Uuhh... my orders get me killed. I was yelling at people to move a blue line of assault towards the flag. Finally, they got almost where I wanted them, but I still got shot taking the flag. ;)

That's the joys of airsofting. No one really dies, and a fatal shot is a walk-to-the-spawnpoint away.

I too am a loud, aggressive leader who will gather up whatever I've got and try to get out of it. So what if you rise up to take a burst in the chest; you died in a blaze of glory. Think about the millions that died in WWI going over the top of their trench into a fusilade of 8MM bullets (NOT the happy-plastic type). I'm 100% SURE that they all felt that they were going to die needlessly charging across the wasted earth--but they did it anyway KNOWING that there was no easy re-spawn waiting for them, but in fact a lonely death in the mud.

If you got caught up in some "futile" charge commanded by some "loud mouth" all it tells me is that you weren't doing enough about your situation to make a difference, and someone with a sack came along and tried to make that difference.

You don't like it? Learn to take command and get your own a$$ out of that type of situation.

My two-cents.
