What if I've never played CS and I don't know what the teams look like or what guns are allowed?

i contacted vendi games just like jason ( hellmut ) did because i wanted some company support to help me with a live action counterstrike game. jason was going to do a half-life game, had radical props and even the game makers support. he was going to run it at strikezone until negotiations fell through.

i would be very careful about copyright infringment on your game name. you can say that you have CS like gameplay, but dont call it "counterstrike" or "counterstrike LIVE" because if you profit from that they can hit you for damages, copyright infringment on a trademarked name and probably a ton of other stuff.

contact vendi and see if you can get them interested....otherwise, just base your games off that style of gameplay.

i love CSS, and am in one of the best clans/communities with our own server that is constantly filled. a very milsim attitude and the players are phenominal. a very hack free environment, with me holding my own shinny ban hammer.

anyway, i would consider comming to this if it is well planned and has more then just outdoors, when we play, we play on maps...

de_assault
de_dust2
de_chat
de_port

things with buildings and terrain.

outdoor counterstrike might be..... a little thin.

i have played this field many times, its a good mix or terain, with thick brush, thin vegitation and clear cut areas, it has fighting positions and roads right down the middle, its a good size field. those of you who went to chicken wars, this is the same field.

Our game will be played in a CS like atmosphere and setting but as you guys have already noticed any details involving the game (CS) itself were left pretty vague. My suggestion is to goggle it! :) In the mean time because Mats post still has Justin and I cracking up I will change my original post a bit.

The field will be set up with mock buildings and crates with 2 different areas or stages if you will. :)

Layouts of each stage will be posted later.

Some where we have a CS 1.6 map of teh Strikezone, maybe I will get Eke to dig it up. We also have one of NWTactical when we did Counterstrike at NW Tactical back in 2005 (and several programmers from Valve showed up!)

Ok so I am a little confused about where this will be going on at. Is it at a building or is it going to be at the Mc Gowen field? Cause there are no buildings up there on that BLM land. Unless you guys got permission to build something there?

the building is a temp structure.

Postby Clown » Fri Mar 28, 2008 7:37 pm

The building is a temp structure made of 1" faring strips and painters visquean. In other words a topless tent. :D The building will be assembled early that morning and removed when we are done. We have used this type structure many times and it has been proven to be the most cost effective and the least invasive way of setting something like this up. :) In fact we don’t even use screws or nails. We take great pride in our fields and would not set up any structures, sandbags or other things that could cause us to loose the privilege to play there. Of course we would also ask that any other players that visit the field would do the same.
I should also let everybody know that the proceeds from this event will go to bigger better props and prizes for future events.

Ronin Airsoft is a sister company to EXPCS inc. (Extreme PCs) We are no stranger to throwing events. Our GL online counterstrike tournaments averaged 2200 player year round including over 22 35/200 man LAN parties and over $10000 worth of prizes given away. I say this only because I can’t help but feel like there might be some question about our abilities to throw an event such as this. If this is the case please feel free to PM me or zip me an Email jon@expcs.net or come by the shop. Ronin Airsoft is located at 1124 main st. Springfield, OR 97477 Our store hours are 10am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday. We love talking airsoft and I would be happy to show people examples of the visquean material.
