Battle of the Flags IV
Where: Scappose Field
When: Saturday February 16th
Start Time: 1030
Age Limit:15
Cost: FREE
Would like to formally announce the full return of the Scappose Field for our continued use, and what better way to do that then to return to one of my most successful games, Battle of the Flags IV.
Game-
This is a Force on Force game, consisting of 2 primary teams, the Red Team & the Blue Team. Each team will have a Base Point located on the field, each teams Base Point will be marked with one of 2 large flags. These flags act as the Respawn Indicator, if a teams flag is in the raised position, than that team has its respawns, however if a your opposing team is able to take your "Base Point" and lower your teams flag, then the team that had its flag lowered loses there respawns. Meaning, once your teams flag has been lowered, your respawn points are CLOSED. Now if your team is able to retake your Base Point and re-raise your flag, then your respawns will once again be OPEN.
OBJECTIVE
The main objective of the game is basically a Sector Control Scenario, There will be mulitiple Sector Control Points, it is the objective of each team to control ALL Sector Control Points. Obviously this will be easiest if your opposing team has no respawns and you are able to kill everyone and not have to worry about them respawning.
this a points driven game, and the team that has the most points at the end of Round 1 will determine what role they will take in Round 2. So there is going to be more to this game then just shooting everyone with plastic death, you want to gain as many points as you can in order to control what your team will do when Round 2 starts.
Teams
The teams will be broken down by both colored tape armband & by BDU type. so everyone be sure to bring colored tape to mark yourselves. I have assigned the most common BDU types to either the Blue or Red teams, all the other BDU types, will be filler and assigned to either team at the game briefing.
Blue Team-
MARPAT & Multicam
Red Team-
Woodland & ACU
**IMPORTANT**
Radios, it is very important that you bring a radio to the game. Many things will be happening at once, and if you dont have a radio, you will not be able to keep up. Situations will be in a constant state of flux, such as if your teams respawn is open or closed. if you dont have a radio to get this information, you will have to trek all the way back to your teams base point to find out by visually confirming if your respawn is open or closed. Where as if you have a radio, you can call it in and rather then trek half way across the field, or all the way across, you can just move to one of the multiple respawn points that will be set up on the field.
And, this is a type of Sector Control game, so if/when you capture a sector point, you will have to call it into the admins. in order to claim control of a sector, you will have to inform the admins and then hold it for a set period of time to gain the points for capturing that sector.
WEAPONS
No Drum Mags/ Beta-C mags allowed except on approved LMG weapons.
Grenade rule: NOT IN EFFECT
Snipers: Snipers will not be allowed for this event.
Please Stay Tuned for more information.
NEW INFORMATION ADDED.
OK... first off I sorry for not adding more information sooner. I have had much going on this last week. So i have read through the comments so far, and from what I can tell, there seems to be some wanting to do the tape arm bands and some wanting to stick with the usual Camo Breakdowns that have been done in the past. For now, I am going to continue to monitor the comments on this matter and make my final decision on tape armbands or by cammo type for the teams here on... Tuesday evening. So if you have a thought on this matter, voice it before then and we will see what the general consensus is.
Listen people, I am only interested in if you like the idea of the tape armbands more or less then seperation by cammo type. No stupid a$$ comments are needed or wanted.
rule changes
Grenades will not be inplay for this event.
Snipers, meaning bolt rifles, will not be inplay for this event. This is meant to be a rolling gun battle event and not the style of game play is not designed to allow snipers.
IMPORTANT
Now this game does not allow the use of bolt rifles. Dont bring a bolt, dont come walking up to me on saturday morning and say something like, I forgot my AEG but I have my bolt, can I still use it. The answer will be NO.
That exactly what someone did at the last scappose game, and though I thought he was full of shit, becuase like this game, that game didnt call for the use a bolt rifle, but he still brought it for some reason. I believe that he did it on purpose, but being the nice guy that I am, I did allow it to be used. However, though I allowed 1 person at the Anti-Camo game to use a bolt, there seems to have been about 4 others on the field. DONT BRING A BOLT RIFLE, it will not be allowdd on the field for this game.
AGE LIMIT
I have been contacted by a few poeple, under the 15yo age limit I set, wondering if they can still come, if I will make and exception for them. The answer to this is, NO. I am sorry that you have to be excluded, but there have been far too many issues in the recent games, and I can say, honestly, that many of the were due to the younger players. If you are that responcible player who happens to be 14, I am sorry that you have to pay the price for those asshats that happen to be in your age group.
This just goes to show, that it is everyones responcibilty when on the field to ensure that the rules are followed, and that no one is off screwing around, not taking there hits, shooting people with a 400fps gun at 5ft, or deliberately shooting people in the head & face.
If you see people doing this, you either need to confront them directly or report them to an ADMIN, immiedately. Now I am not saying that all the hacking/cheating is being done only by the younger players, there are those older players that do it aswell, but I can say that without a doubt at the last 2 scappose games, I had dozens, and I mean dozens of people comming up to me saying that much of it was being done by the younger group of players.
again, for those good & honest 14yo players, I am sorry you have to pay for something you didnt do.

Directions to Scappose Field
Take HWY 30 all the way into Scappoose, past Fred Meyer and the red Peace Candle, past the school, through downtown etc.
Take a left at the light for Scappoose-Vernonia Hwy .
Take that all the way to Cater Rd, and take a right. The right turn is a pretty sharp one, so it's kind of distinctive. There's also a sign a few hundred feet before the turn that announces the road name before you get there.
From Cater Rd, slow down (since you're in a neighborhood), and take a left onto Alder Creek Rd. There's a house on the corner with a very simple wood-pole fence for visual reference. It should be the first or second turn after you get onto Cater Rd.
When on Alder Creek, be careful driving. Be respectful of those living in this area. Follow Alder Creek Rd all the way, there are a few twists and turns, but it's nothing you can figure out if your eyes are open. You'll know you're going the right way when the road goes to one-lane (and there's a sign designating this), and when you see large pipes and broken down trucks along the sides of the road. Keep going, the road goes to gravel and you're almost there.
Follow the gravel until you see everyone, and find a spot on the side of the road to park.
