Watch 28 Days Later. Any fluid swapping results in a new zombie in that movie. Most of the time, though, it's a bite.

For added "realism," why not say that zombies must touch their victims with some part of their head (to simulate a bite). Reaching out and 'playing tag' seems a little easy. If I get grabbed I wanna at least try to shove the zombie off and pump a round in as I run away (from 10 ft of course :D )

C'mon, REAL zombie action!

OK, yes, that would be fun, but not safe. As far as rubbing their head on you guys or biting you..... Keep your kink to your self.

Mo and Doug are in charge of the Zombies and their rules. They will take over answering Zombie Questions. I think you guys are forgetting every other team is against you too. Zombies are just in the way.

Not that head. Jesus...

How isn't it safe? I'm not talking about a headbutt or anything. Just 'uuuuhhnggnnn,' grab, head on arm/shoulder/hand/back/whatever.

I don't think we're forgetting that, it's just that the zombies are a new addition to anything that's probably been done before, so it opens up a whole new set of questions/ideas/clarifications that don't exist in normal games. We're used to shooting other teams.

OK, and I have to make sure the fun is as safe as it can be.

I've never heard of becoming a zombie by getting zombie blood on you. If that were the way it worked, everyone in a zombie movie would turn into one cause they're blowing zombie brains and blood all over the place... You should just require the zombies to bite someone to turn them into a zombie!

You need to watch 28 days later.... any little zombie juice that made contact with a mucus membrane or open wound and you were a gonner.

Edit:

I agree with Niall, leave the zombie rules like they are... I don't wanna have to headbutt some zombie back after he smashes my goggles off my face while trying to "bite" me. Physical contact rules are a bad idea, especially with untrained adrenalin soaked n00bs running through the woods and $1000 replicas being smashed out of the way or knocked to the ground. There are very few people who I would trust with actual physical contact in a game, and most of them are on APST.

Well first of all the Zombies will not have wepons to shoot you back.. You are talking about shooting a Zombie and then being able to run away. Remember a Zombie can't continue after it has been shot until it's butt hits the ground. That's plenty of time to run away. Not to mention that you are going against other teams. Lets not make this just about the Zombies. I would be more worried about the other teams shooting me if I were you.

riiiight... I understand that much, but you stuill haven't answered my question. How is a head-touch not safe? Sure, in a frenzy, it may turn into something resembling a headbutt, but a touch can turn into a punch in the same situation.

Like I said in my PM to you, I think this is an awesome idea, and it's totally your game. I don't want to step on any toes with my suggestions. If you already have every tiny detail worked out and don't need suggestions, let me know and I'll happily shut the hell up.

I realize you didn't ask for suggestions, but due to the nature of the game (that it involves zombies) I have a lot of ideas on what I think people would enjoy. I've seen over 3 dozen zombie movies (I used to manage a Blockbuster Video) and can visualize how certain aspects could be implemented into airsoft game.

Again, if new ideas are not welcome, I 100% udnerstand that you've got it handled. I am only trying to contribute.

Zombie Spirit:

Zombies are "window dressing" for this op. Your primary goal is to insert with a small group and grab a rock. You will have stiff competion and the more you get distracted by the zombies, the more you will draw attention to your unit. Personally, I am really looking forward to being a zombie. Not because I expect to get a lot of kills, but more because I will have a front row seat to a lot of havoc. Remember, it is hard to be stealthy with a zombie running after you and screaming/groaning.

With regard to how zombies "kill" you, the less body contact we have the less chance of anyone getting hurt. For example, if I have to touch my head to you, how many times out of 10 do I accidenly get a rifle butt to my face?

I think the rules are just fine as they are. Still looking for a team FYI.

I guess I'll just sign up for random. Please try not to put me on a team full of people that might do something not so intelligent.

OK, Who is not on a team that wants to be? I will vouch for Hoff! Hoff, have you checked with the RAC5 guys? I have 2 team names set aside for them.
